Sit back and enjoy …
I tweeted about this earlier this morning.  Here’s a little more information. It’s good to see this film gaining more financial support.
From Arte France:
“The selection committee of ARTE France Cinema, held November 27, 2015, decided to support three new projects: “High Life” by Claire Denis, “A Gentle Creature” by Sergei Loznitsa”
The press release:

That’s interesting about The Tindersticks.  If you want to hear their sound visit their website here or their official Facebook.
High Life is a coproduction Alcazar Films (France), Pandora Film (Germany) and Apocalypse Films (UK).
And from Arnaud Grellier’s (media journalist with Satellifax (paid subscription)) twitter:

Translated from French by Bing

I tweeted about this on 1 December 2015.
Looks like High Life has more funding perhaps “Claire Denis et Volker Schlöndorff … ” https://t.co/NnJmRTTE0D via @lefilmfrancais
— Robert Pattinson AU (@RPAustralia) December 1, 2015
Remember back in October I posted about some funding for the film. Â Well this is now in addition to that funding.
According to CineEuropa:
“At the German-French Film Meeting, the funding committee greenlit an amount of €849,000 for four German-French co-productions. The projects that are being supported by the mini-traité include Rückkehr nach Montauk by Volker Schlöndorff, High Life by Claire Denis, Die Sanfte by Sergei Loznitsa and Diamond Island by Davy Chou.”
We get a little more information from the FFA (thanks to @Sallyvg):
“Furthermore, the Commission supports with 319,000 euros, the project HIGH LIFE by Claire Denis (35 RUM) with “Twilight” star Robert Pattinson in the lead role. The co-produced by Pandora Film science fiction drama revolves around a prisoner who is participating in a dangerous space mission to escape his death sentence.

HIGH LIFE

For those wondering about The Apocalypse Films, this is Producer Oliver Dungey’s company. Â You may recall The Film Stage quoted Oliver as saying:
“I am delighted that Claire has been tempted to cross the channel and make a film in English; she is one of the greats of contemporary cinema and she’s assembled a quite extraordinary team to make exactly the kind of ambitious film that audiences cherish – completely original, genuinely pushing the boundaries of art and science and, above all, extremely entertaining.â€
One step closer I guess.
I tweeted a link to Kyle Buchanan’s Vulture article on “100 Women Director’s Hollywood Should Be Hiring” but thought I’d share what was actually said:
“Claire Denis
A year ago, I might have left Denis off this list: Though her films, likeTrouble Every Day, Beau Travail, and White Material, mark this French director as a titan of world cinema, I didn’t think she had any interest in going mainstream. And then, over the past year, Denis set Zadie Smith to write a sci-fi film and Robert Pattinson to star in it. If this is what it looks like when Denis is ready to play ball, I can’t wait to see what kind of curve she puts on her pitch.”
Denis is a “titan of world cinema” and she wants to work with Rob. Â Says it all really.
