Jamie recently took part in Wired’s “Autocomplete Interview” and had this to say about Rob. From The Insider:

Jamie Dornan admitted he was envious of his former roommate Robert Pattinson‘s early luck in Hollywood at the start of his career.

“I’ve known Rob forever,” Dornan said while participating in the latest edition of Wired’s “Autocomplete Interview” video series, released Monday. “He’s a really good friend. I love him. I think he’s one of the most interesting, exciting actors around.”

“I probably at one point was quite jealous early on,” the Irish actor continued. “We were all friends back in London and Rob was going places and we weren’t. I think he’s the nicest guy in the world.”

“I think with Rob it’s always been like, he sort of had success earlier, so we were a bit like, ‘Does he really fit in with us?’ Because we were not working and he’s working all the time,” Dornan explained to Entertainment Tonight in March 2022. “He did ‘Twilight’ and was suddenly in a different stratosphere than us.”

Jamie talked Rob to Variety in relation to an article where he slams fan backlash about casting, which he’s more than familiar with considering the backlash when he was cast in 50 Shades

“Prejudgment is such a fucking disease,” Dornan recently told Esquire about fan backlash to high profile casting announcements. “It’s a disease in all our culture. In my line of work, sure. But in general, people prejudge people based on fucking anything really, and it’s very sad. Look at the reaction when Rob got cast as Batman. It was like 90% negative.”

Circling back to Pattinson, Dornan added, “And all the naysayers love what Rob has done with Batman.”

That Time Robert Pattinson Sang Stray Dog at Open Mic Night 2008

As I said I found an old USB and this was on it – although it’s a longer video I shortened to share. It brings back so many memories, I’m pretty sure I listened to this on loop for months. How I wish Rob would release some music.

Robert Pattinson about his music

Finally someone spoke to Rob about music. Click on the pic of Rob below to listen to the audio interview from Arts Alive:

I recently spoke with Pattinson, and used it as an excuse to talk only about music. In this conversation, we discuss his life as a songwriter, his favorite classical music, what rap music he listens to on set to get into character, how his performances are a kind of music themselves… and more.

Robert Pattinson Sings “Willow” on #HighLife soundtrack

The Tindersticks have officially released Rob singing “Willow” on their YouTube channel – hit play to watch and listen to this mesmerising song

According to The Line of Best Fit:

On the upcoming soundtrack, Staples says, “Most of the music for High Life was made before the filming. The conversation with Claire started maybe as far back as 2012. There were many ideas I wanted to explore and I appreciated the foresight of Claire and the producers in offering me support and encouragement to do this. As well as work with usual collaborators Dan McKinna, Neil Fraser and Earl Harvin, this afforded me purely experimental recording sessions with David Coulter, Thomas Bloch, David Okumu, Julian Siegel, Seb Rochford and the BBC singers.”

Speaking about “Willow”, he adds, “And then there was “Willow”…a seed of a song shared by myself and Dan Mckinna that eventually grew to be the conclusion of the ‘High Life’ with Robert Pattinson, the lead actor, singing the song in character to his daughter Willow, a theme that runs through the film.”

“Willow” is out now. The soundtrack for High Life is set for a digital release on 5 April, with limited vinyl following on 5 May.
