HOLY FREAKIN MOLY.  The big question at the beginning of the week was – Rob’s in New York – Dean’s with him – he must be working yadda yadda yadda.  Don’t know why there is always so much impatience when it comes to Rob.  Sit back relax and just wait.  The goods always come when they’re supposed to.  And so Rob did attend the Met Gala and didn’t he look incredibly dashing. Rob is so debonair.  I think that is one of the things that first struck me about him, he is old Hollywood charm personified.  Amazing man.  And if Rob being at the Met Gala wasn’t enough he was nice enough to turn up to the Michael Kors and iTunes after party.  What I’d love to know is what the hell Kate Hudson said to Rob to receive this reaction.  I joked that she was trying to convince Rob to do a rom/com, but Rob’s face is like “WTF are you talking about” which would be my reaction if I had to sit through a rom/com as some of you have gathered.  Priceless.  Of course who knows if that millisecond of time actually caught the real reaction of Rob.  We all know that often it’s not how it seems.  Again this week we have been spoilt with older previously seen stills in larger versions.  How about that gorgeous B&W photo I came across from Berlinale – I swear that’s new to me.  I also see quite a few of you suffer from arachnophobia.  Clearly Rob doesn’t.  Love that thanks to Japan being slightly tardy with their release dates we are getting more goods for The Rover.  Those two new stills are fabulous.  Hopefully the Japanese Facebook/Twitter gives us a few more gems like that prior to its 25 July release.  In my searches I also came across this different Maps to the Stars Japanese blu-ray cover which I tweeted but didn’t post.  I did, however, post about the delay for the release of the film in Chile *tapsfoot* and also that LIFE seems to be inching closer to a release in Spain.  How spot on was the 2005 issue of Screen International with regard to their “Stars of Tomorrow” – I see you Carey Mulligan, TomStu, David Oyelowo, Eddie Redmayne, Natalia Tena & Natalie Dormer.  I wonder if Rob made a few phone calls to catch up on some gossip for Game of Thrones, especially since Natalia was in Bel Ami with Rob.  So many of Rob’s peers have had incredible success.  I’m sure there are others in that pic that I’ve missed to mention.  Of course Rob’s the stand out *nobiasokmaybeslight*.   We started celebrating Rob’s birthday a bit earlier than in previous years.  Jules is the genius behind that suggestion.  It’s hard to believe that some of us first noticed Rob back in the Harry Potter days when he was just 19 and here we are 10 years later watching his amazing career and life unfold.  I know I’m preaching to the choir here, but he’s an incredibly gorgeous man both inside and out and he deserves ALL the good coming his way.  We’ve seen it so many times, I’ve been told by several people that have worked closely with Rob – he’s just egoless.  I’ve also seen it with my own eyes even when he’s not in front of the camera.  The man lives his life and keeps a low profile  as best he can – he is no diva that is for sure.  So I hope he enjoys his 29th birthday celebrations whatever he chooses to do.  Speaking of celebrations, Happy Mother’s Day to all of you that are fortunate enough to be able to celebrate today.  Children are a gift, much like Rob, so cherish it.  Until next week …

I thought starting the week off with that new Jerome still of Rob was pretty damn good and I was “inspired” to hunt for some more and ended up finding those great Tyler “Remember Me” pics.  The showreel was beautiful too wasn’t it.  Yeah I need to search for some more like that.  I’ve come across snippets of Little Ashes in one, but not enough to consider it worth posting.  And I think Trish said it perfectly that we had a bit of a nostalgic week with those HQ/UHQ stills that we found from Twilight.  Let’s just say we have a few more up our sleeves so stay tuned.  Meanwhile on the movie news front, things seemed pretty quite.  It’s anticipated that Brimstone will start filming this month *tapsfoot*.  It’s possible that Rob is off somewhere preparing for it as I type.  The Childhood of A Leader teased with another cast member added to IMDbPro.  As I mentioned in that update, I do like the secrecy around this film.  It very much reminds me of the cloak and dagger that surrounded The Rover and wasn’t it worth it at the end.  I’m hoping that they are on track to have it included at the Venice Film Festival as they’ve hinted at.  I wouldn’t mind it appearing at TIFF – just saying!  The Rover was included in FilmInk’s list of Australian sci-fi films. I wonder if they were trying for some form of redemption because if my memory serves me right it was a huge exclusion from their film awards earlier this year.  Yeah I haven’t forgotten.  LIFE has picked up a few more worldwide distributors – I’m sifting through trying to find more.  And don’t worry Aussies, I had some information this week and let me confirm that both LIFE and Queen of the Desert are still included in Transmission’s “coming soon” for this year.   Remember the full program for the Sydney Film Festival is released midweek and not that I know anything, I’m just hoping that at least one of Rob’s films makes the cut.  Both have Australian links which should help at least one of them over the line.  I’m leaning towards possibly LIFE, but we shall definitely know this week (and I won’t complain if it’s QoTD – okay maybe just a little).   Again, let me stress that I’m just speculating it could be that none of them are included.  Vertigo gave us that lovely collage of Rob at the Inglorious Basterd premiere at Cannes.  LOL it must have been subliminal brainwashing because I had a cocktail last night called that.  Wonder why I chose it ha!  Sad we’re going to miss Rob at Cannes this year, but to be fair you have to give some other actors a go at having their 15 mins at the Festival because Rob does pretty much take all the limelight when he’s there.  Surprisingly I don’t have much to say this week (shock horror), so I’ll end off with thanking Jules once again for her experimental Friday edits – Carmel said it best “Not many could work with material that is already so emotional and respect it like you obviously do. A heart felt Thank You.” from all of us.  Until next week ….

How gorgeous are those new How To Be stills.  And how gorgeous is Jules edit above for us to use.  You are such a gem Jules.  If you could have all seen my face when I first saw them.  I was most definitely on a roll that night finding some more of Ceddie from Goblet of Fire and also better quality Edward Cullen *sigh*.  I keep saying, there’s some gems out there that we still haven’t seen.  How great that  I found at least some.  I’ve dropped the ball the last few days on my searches, but don’t worry I’ll get to them again it makes me feel like a modern day explorer #notreally.  Speaking of which.  Some lucky Brits had the chance to see Queen of the Desert this week – envy is thy name.  Caroline Boulton has been revealed as a new cast mate of Rob’s on The Childhood of a Leader.  I snooped her instagram and there’s some hints of her filming in Budapest.  Also, I checked Protagonist Pictures website again since last week they didn’t have Cannes listed under their “Markets” tab.  Well that most definitely changed. Wouldn’t mind seeing that promo reel for myself especially if it’s anything like The Haunted Airman showreel I came across which is almost 100% Rob.  Hopefully we get some great news coming out of Cannes that all of Rob’s films with a presence in the market pick up distribution (wonders what happened about QoTD and that tweet from Cassian Elwes a few weeks back).  I was reminded by Roboshayka that the “Life” pic that I said was either a new still or just a set photo was in fact a crop of a set photo.  Still good though – it was so rich and crisp.  Looks like France might be getting Life a week earlier than expected too.  Originally it was to be released 30 September, but Allocine and IMDbPro are both now listing the release date as 23 September 2015.  Also thanks to the heads up from Roberta we now have a release date for Life in Italy.  And life was a little tough for those of us in Sydney this week – how about those storms, they reminded me of Michelle’s birthday back in October 2012 when we sat through 4 harsh weather conditions to actually meet Rob.  I may have been inspired by the drenching (and believe me when I say that is an understatement) that Sydney and I received to post some “wet” Rob pics.  Lordy I didn’t see anyone looking as good as that on any of the torrential rain days.  Thankfully the sun peaked through on Thursday, although that was shortlived as I may have sat through a hailstorm during a football match yesterday.  The things we do.  The Rover made some appearances this week, which I’m always thankful for.  And I don’t mean just in my A-Z Appreciation of Rob.  Stan is screening The Rover (and the Twilight Saga) so if you needed incentive to take on their 30 day trial now is the time.  Also thanks Julie (SydneyRobFan) for letting me know that FOXTEL is screening The Rover come 2 May.  Were a few of you surprised that I posted the print interview from F Magazine (Greece)?  You know how wary I am of print media.  I felt some of that interview had been pieced together, but there were some interesting insights.  The one that struck a chord with me the most was Rob saying he didn’t think the paparazzi were a problem.  That’s funny because I’ve been saying that for some time *sideyesthefamewhoreswhosneakpicsofhim*.  I have to agree with him.  Even though I loathe how they say vulgar things to him to get a reaction at times, at least he knows “most” of the time that they are taking pics of him.  I believe Rob’s bigger problem is the amount of people who justify to themselves that it’s okay to take pics of him without his knowledge and then spread them all over the internet with their little stories of what they believe they saw.  Rob has said how much he loathes it.  Of course they never embellish those stories for their own agendas #sarcasm.  I would love for someone to spend a month following those same people and doing it to them.  See how they like that kind of invasion of their privacy because it is an invasion no matter how they want to spin it.  Yeah I can hear their excuses that he’s at a public place blah blah blah – save it because I hear men who take similar photos of women at beaches say the same thing as their defence.  Whatever lets you sleep at night though.  I know what I would do (and have done) in that same situation.  In fact I have been told by someone close to Rob that I’m good like that and it’s an admirable quality.  His words not mine.  Anyway I better get off my soapbox since I know I’m in the minority of people who respect Rob’s privacy.  I’ll leave you with this.  So the storyboard artist for Brimstone has to work with perfection.  I mean how do you deal with that.  Getting him just right – I think God already did that.  Until next week …

Wowza Jules birthday kicked our week off with a BANG!  And what a week it’s been.  It looks like The Trap has picked up its first distributor with Mars Distribution France (who also distributed Spring Breakers) coming on board.  They’ve actually added it to their website if you click on the hyperlink.  The Trap also looks like it’s not going to be filming in the next few months, but more likely towards the end of the year given that IMDbPro changed the release date to 2017.  I don’t mind since we should be getting both Brimstone and Lost City of Z in 2016.  Just pacing ourselves.  Speaking of both those films – Martin Koolhoven tweeted yesterday that he’s hoping we get the film some time in second half of 2016 and The Lost City of Z is chugging along picking up worldwide distributors.  We can welcome Italy and South Korea into the fold of peeps who will eventually see this film.   You’ll see that Lionsgate will be promoting The Trap at Cannes this year and that The Childhood of a Leader is having a promo screening too.  So although Rob won’t be at Cannes in person, as far as we know, he’ll be there in spirit.  And hopefully he’ll be back there next year with one of these films.  Maps to the Stars was finally released on DVD in the US … woot woot.  I’ve also found a few more dates for DVD releases and links for where the DVD is currently available to purchase.  And whilst I was doing that I came across a release date for The Rover.  Lordy the Brazilians must be patient people waiting this long until they get it on DVD|Blu-ray and here I thought we lagged behind.  Anyway come 30 April they’ll be happy bunnies.  The Chinese are also lucky with The Rover screening at the 5th Beijing International Film Festival on 22 April.  How I’d love to watch that film on the big screen again.  I’m going to sound like a broken record but how gorgeous are Jules’ edits of Rob from Breaking Dawn.  B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L.  We might not get edits on a regular basis Jules, but I’m happy to get whatever and whenever you get inspired.  We decided to take a few walks down memory lane with our random posts.  There’s so much Rob goodness available to us at our fingertips – there’s never a shortage of Rob.  Life somehow is getting an “R” rating in the US.   I wasn’t expecting any coarse language, sex or nudity in Life, but *shrugs* will be interesting to see if it gets an M or MA rating here in Australia.  I tell you what else I wasn’t expecting, that gorgeous behind the stills shot of Rob on the set of Bel Ami.  That cheeky smile.  One of my fave reactions from him.  I promise I will let go of Idol’s Eye *whispersmaybe* but I’ve been intrigued by the blame game that’s been happening.  Either way I hope Assayas gets his way although I thought Benaroya had the rights *anothershrug* but I don’t care as long as we finally see ‘stache Rob as John Mendell *agirlcandream*.   Until next week …

*TWIRLS through my wrap up* Lost City of Z principal photography slated to start 8 August 2015 as long as Guy Ritchie doesn’t screw up King Arthur *sideeyes Charlie Hunnam *.  And The Trap looks like it’s possibly going to shoot in May in Miami.  Say hello to my little friend …oops wrong movie but it’s still Al Pacino so *twirls again*.  That news alone is almost enough for me to get over the fact that Assayas pretty  much put to bed any hope of seeing Rob and Bob in Idol’s Eye.  I think we needed that closure.  Thankfully Benaroya was done and dusted with Queen of the Desert before it seems to have faltered majorly.  I saw another one of their  productions lost financing last week.  Not good not good at all for them.  And since I mentioned Lost City, I know I said last week I suspected that Studio Canal would distribute Lost City of Z in the UK & Germany but I wouldn’t add until I saw on their sites, but Cinando has included and so I’m happy to go with that.  Whilst I was checking possible distributors for Brimstone, I came across Gusto’s site and a slightly different synopsis for the film.  I sound like a broken record but all the films Rob has lined up sound fab and I wish my life away wanting to see them.  The Rover is still hanging on with it’s screening in May at the South Korean Jeonju Film Festival.  How great were those photos Guy Pearce shared on his website.  I’m still suffering withdrawals from that promo tour *sniff*.  I hope the three of them work together again soon.  Looks like Taiwan had a distributor for “Life” all the way back in July 2014.  I came across Atom Film’s Facebook page and found some great promo shots from what appears to have been an exhibition about “Life” magazine in Taiwan.  Think about all the hidden gems that are lurking on the net that we haven’t come across yet.   Don’t worry I’m still searching although this week has been particularly brutal for me work wise, I should be back on track on the hunt for Rob worldwide.  The lucky Brits get a second bite at Queen of the Desert thanks to Global Heritage Fund and not surprisingly its popular demand.  The things we do to see 10 or so minutes of Rob on screen regardless of Franco …. ooops.  Little did we know back then that it would just be training for watching The Trap.  Rob certainly is going to be busy in the next few months and I have a suspicion that we’re going to hear something new very very soon.  I love that Rob is a man of his word.  Lastly, if you want to watch Edward rip off Victoria’s head (thanks Vertigo) Eclipse is on ABC2 tonight at 8.30 pm (repeated tomorrow at 11.35 pm).  ‘Til next week.

I was a little disheartened on Wednesday with the news that neither of Rob’s films were included in the first release of the Sydney Film Festival schedule, and I was inclined to start my wrap up with “Still tapping my foot for a trailer for either Life or Queen of the Desert.   We have distribution for both here in Australia so tick tock.”  But on Saturday morning Cassian Elwes tweeted that they might have a distribution deal and potential release date so … *twirls*.   As for the Sydney Film Festival, there’s still a chance one of the films could be included, but we won’t know until 6 May since that is when the full schedule is unleashed.  We started the week off with ‘stache Rob although it feels like it’s just rubbing salt into the wounds!  But then we finally saw Rob in his T E Lawrence costume yesterday.  Oh I know there have been loads of illegally taken screenshots of Rob in costume flitting around the internet, but I wanted a real photo so I was happy to wait.  The photo of Rob with that lion cub – J.E.A.L.O.U.S and not of the lion cub because it’s being held by Rob, but the fact that Rob got to hold one.  It’s on my bucket list – holding a lion cub – not being held by Rob … oh wait maybe that should be included too *asif!*  I found a few more DVD releases for Maps to the Stars and during those searches I came across some pics that were new to me of Rob at TIFF.  Gorgeous man is gorgeous.  Jules spoilt us again – how beautiful were those heartbreaking gifs for her letter “H” *sniff*.   And how gorgeous is her edit for our week in review!  I’ve been waiting to unleash it all day.  We had a few throwbacks to some vintage Rob – Vertigo reminded us how beautiful he was at the HFPA Awards and I couldn’t go past “diirrttttt” for what Rob was going to use to wash his hair so Les’s fat ass kid could go to space camp again.  Still remember the day that teaser came out.  Hilarious.  I was snooping around for some distributor news and came across Studio Canal being the distributor in New Zealand and France for Lost City of Z.  I suspect since Studio Canal now has distribution in France, Australia & NZ that it will undoubtedly release in Germany and the UK too, but until I see it listed on their upcoming releases I won’t include on the list since I’m just speculating.  I see Liam Cunningham has a mancrush on Rob.  It’s to be expected though – Rob bewitches almost everyone in his path.  Don’t forget that ABC2 is screening the entire Twilight Saga over the remaining 4 weeks – New Moon is up this Sunday night|repeated on Monday night and this inspired my reminder/flashback post because who doesn’t want to see Clocktower Eddie … until next week when hopefully we start the week off with Cassian giving us those release dates *sideeyes Transmission*
