Is Robert Pattinson #Tenet’s Best Hopes for an Oscar?
We have been down this road twice before – with Good Time and The Lighthouse. Without any bias, Rob’s performances in both films deserved recognition at the Academy Awards – it is after all a show that purports to acknowledge acting talent. Given the difficulties everyone has faced in 2020, the Oscars will be broadcast for the first time since 1953 later than usual – 25 April 2021. Perhaps 2021, will be “Neil” and Rob’s year for best supporting actor. Edward’s Ace seems to think so and tweeted that Rob is Tenet’s best chance for a gold statue (Erick also has him in contentionwith The Devil All the Time). To check out other categories in contention for Tenet head over to his website Award’s Ace.
The official schedule for DC FanDome has been released and the panel for “The Batman” is scheduled for Saturday, August 22 at 8:30pm. The panel will be hosted by Matt Reeves and will include surprises for fans. We’re assuming one of the surprises will be an appearance by Rob, as he was confirmed as a guest.
Additionally, according to The Wrap, there will be some new Batman footage revealed:
“fans who tune in will also get to find out more about WB outings like James Gunn’s “The Suicide Squad,” James Wan’s “Aquaman” sequel, and Matt Reeves “The Batman,” a must-see as Reeves joins host Aisha Tyler to talk it up and treat fans to some new footage.”
All of the panels will be streamed via the DC FanDome website. You will need to register for an account to watch the panels. You can register at this link: DC FanDome.
This was a nice Monday surprise! We have our first look at Rob as preacher Preston Teagardin in Antonio Campos’ “The Devil All The Time”, exclusively from Entertainment Weekly. A short excerpt regarding Rob’s character:
“Rob prepared a bunch of ideas and you don’t know what you’re going to get but it’s all interesting,” says Campos. “The character coming to life — I saw that in front of me when we were on set.”
Robert Pattinson could potentially be the Most Valuable Player in Matt Reeves’ The Batman
According to BamSmackPow, “Robert Pattinson could potentially be the Most Valuable Player in Matt Reeves’ The Batman and become one of the all-time greatest in the process” and this is why:
Robert Pattinson’s casting as Bruce Wayne/Batman in The Batman saw the actor join a long-line of legendary actors who received unnecessary backlash from assuming critics that didn’t expect them to be cast in the role. And, like all of those other actors and actresses, he will more than likely prove those critics wrong.
Matt Reeves’ The Batman will set itself apart from previous live-action iterations (including the likes of Tim Burton and Joel Schumacher’s Batman film series and Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy) as it will be more driven towards the detective aspect of the DC Comics character.
That means that Pattinson isn’t just going to have to distinguish his performances of both Bruce Wayne and Batman, it means that he’s going to have to highlight their similarities too – bringing to life the more investigative, obsessive qualities of both Bruce and Batman.
What could aid Pattinson’s overall performance is the fact that the British actor has already depicted a billionaire before – a rather manipulative and sadistic one in 28-year-old asset manager Eric Packer in Cosmopolis. Pattinson can undoubtedly apply his experience in the David Cronenberg film to the Gotham socialite’s investigative and deductive skills.
Reeves clearly saw something in Pattinson from his interpretation of Wayne and Batman that he can’t wait to share with moviegoers. With the director as a guide and the script as a blueprint, all Pattinson has to do is interpret it in such a way that highlights both aspects of the character, showcasing their differences and their similarities.
Being that Reeves’ The Batman, which is rumored to take some inspiration from the works of Alfred Hitchcock, is believed to center on a murder mystery plot, this gives Pattinson the chance to shine through as The World’s Greatest Detective.

Robert Pattinson will be working again with Mia Goth
You might recall that back November 2017 IndieWire spoke to Rob about upcoming projects when Rob mentioned that Mia Goth would be working with him again:
Antonio Campos’ “The Devil All the Time”: “It’s got a really fun part in it. I hope it’s going to happen, I think it will. I love Antonio, I’m sort of friends with him as well and I think Mia Goth [“Cure for Wellness,” “Nymphomaniac”] will be in it, and she’s excited about it as well.”
During the current promotion for Suspiria, Mia Goth was interviewed by FrontRowFeatures where she confirmed:
Q: What are you working on now? Goth: … Then I have a movie called “The Devil All the Time” that’s shooting in February. It’s based on a novel. It’s about a set of characters who live in rural Ohio in the late ‘60s. They don’t know each other very well, but the only thing that links these lives together is the fact that they’re all deeply religious, and it drives them to do fanatical things in the name of their god.
Q: Are you going to have an American accent for that? Goth: I will. Which I’m terrified about, because American accents are so hard. It’s quite subtle and very specific. I have a lot of work cut out there.
I wonder if she’s playing Helen who has scenes with Rob’s character “Preacher Roy”. February 2019 – yes please. That’s twice that date has been confirmed. This is one of the quirkiest books I’ve read and I loved it. Interested to see how it translates to film.
