I cannot believe it’s been 10 years and thanks Vertigo for the reminder last night. The blurry photo above was taken by me on Rob’s first trip to Australia to attend the red carpet premiere of Water for Elephants on 6 May 2011. It still blows me away that we were invited to the event by 20th Century Fox. It was a balmy May day in huge contrast to today’s windy wet weather. I still vividly remember Rob stepping out of the car on what was an unprecedented 300 metre red carpet. It plays in slow motion on loop in my mind often and Reese was so tiny and stunning. It still feels surreal that we were on that same carpet with him and then Rob on stage at The State Theatre when he walked out – peered into the audience and said “Let’s ava look atchya” – GOLD. Thanks for the memories Rob and I can’t wait until you can come back … we miss you. *Waves to Dean*.
