RUMOUR #8929202: Robert Pattinson to Produce Film with Chilean Director Leonardo Medel *Updated 11 March 2026*

As we posted a few days ago, Rob is in talks to produce Leo Medel’s next film. This is what he told Noticine:

“Chilean filmmaker Leonardo Medel is finalizing details for his next film project, a movie that will feature actor Robert Pattinson as a producer, along with the collaboration of British producer Matt Wilkinson. Medel, director of “La Verónica”—a film that participated in the San Sebastián Film Festival in 2020—is currently developing the feature film through a partnership with Icki Eneo Arlo, the actor’s production company, and Stigma Films, Wilkinson’s firm.

“It’s an honor for me to work with Robert Pattinson. I greatly admire his work, especially the films he made with David Cronenberg and Robert Eggers,” Medel stated. “When we spoke, he showed great interest in Chilean cinema. He loved the originality of the format of ‘La Verónica’ and Mariana di Girolamo’s performance; and he was also familiar with the films of Sebastián Silva and ‘La Casa Lobo’ by León & Cociña.”

According to NOTICINE.com, the possibility remains open for the British star to participate as an actor in Medel’s untitled project, but for the moment, only his involvement as a producer is confirmed.”

According to an article in Diario Finaciero (and translation by @brnerdg1rl) ) Rob is apparently working with Chilean Director Leo Medel:

“[…] they are working together on a project about which he can’t reveal much because he signed a confidentiality agreement, but which would have Pattinson as producer and him as director. It’s a film currently in pre-production.”

According to IMDbPro:

“Leonardo Medel, also known as “Leo” Medel, is a Chilean filmmaker, founder of “Merced Productora“. For more than a decade he has been dedicated to the development of new cinematic experiences such as VR feature films, interactive films and “hyper films”. His other works includes fashion films, music videos, art installations using New Media and other artistic endeavors.”

There’s nothing listed on IMDbPro obviously as pre-production for Medel, and the only project at script stage without a director for Icki Eneo Arlo is “How to Save A Marriage”. One has to ponder if it’s something new or Rob is trying to get this movie off the ground.
