Fandango took a poll and look who is no. 1 for most anticipated performance

UPDATE: 6 January 2022

Rolling Stone “The 50 Most Anticipated Movies of 2022:

Andy Warhol once declared that in future, every actor will take a crack at playing Batman for 15 minutes (we’re paraphrasing slightly here). Now it’s Robert Pattinson’s turn. The former Twilight heartthrob-turned-consciously-arthouse-weird-movie-star gives us a moody caped crusader, right at the beginning of his career dedicated to cleaning up Gotham City. Paul Dano is the Riddler, here reimagined as a particularly nasty serial killer targeting the rich and famous. Zoe Kravitz makes for a particularly slinky Selina Kyle, a.k.a. Catwoman, and Colin Farrell is virtually unrecognizable as the Penguin. If director Matt Reeves can do for the dark knight what he did for giant monsters with Cloverfield, this could be way better than your average superhero joint.

UPDATE 5 January 2022:

From Variety:

“The Batman” (Warner Bros.)

Current Release Date: March 4

What Looks Strong: Comic book adventures have essentially been pandemic-proof at the box office, and Batman is one of the most ubiquitous masked heroes on the planet. Add Robert Pattinson as a moody, enigmatic Caped Crusader and Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman and, yeah, this movie is going to be huge.

Causes for Concern: Joaquin Phoenix’s devilish turn in “Joker” demonstrates that DC can go dark, we mean Scorsese-level darkness, and still become an insanely profitable box office sensation. But will audiences respond to a gritty, gruesome Dark Knight?

Verdict: Robert Pattinson is playing Batman. Robert Pattinson is playing Batman! Need we say more?

Yesterday I tweeted that The Batman was on Time Magazine’s “58 Most Anticipated Movies” List:

“There’s something in the way Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne flies off the handle that lets viewers know director Matt Reeves might be willing to take his Dark Knight to even darker places than his predecessors. Case in point: Paul Dano’s The Riddler. The There Will Be Blood actor’s take on the classic Batman villain feels more Zodiac killer than Jim Carrey’s merry prankster.”

Today’s I see that The Batman is No. 1 on IMDb’s Most Anticipated Movies of 2022

“We’re not surprised that The Batman is IMDb’s most anticipated movie of 2022 — user interest has been steadily growing this year, with each trailer drop rocketing the title to the top of our MOVIEmeter chart. Robert Pattinson stars as a young Caped Crusader in Matt Reeves‘ Batman reboot, which follows Bruce Wayne during his second and very volatile year as the World’s Greatest Detective while he tracks a serial killer who leaves cryptic messages at his crime scenes — sound like anyone familiar? The extended cast has us super excited, with Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle, Paul Dano as Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as L.t. James Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and a hardly recognizable Colin Farrell as Penguin.”

Fairly certain I will be updating this list frequently given that the film is now almost less than 3 months away from release.

Patience is a virtue. I keep telling myself this as I await The Batman. Sometimes I have to remind myself not to wish my life away for a movie LOL
