Robert Pattinson Tenet August 2020 release looking doubtful
Given the current pandemic in the US is looking less and less in control, and cinemas now predicted to not re-opening until September, it doesn’t appear that Tenet will stick to its August release date. THR are reporting the following from box office and theatrical release analyst, Eric Handler of MKM Parnters :
“We place a low likelihood of Tenet opening on Aug. 12 given a rising number of COVID-19 cases in key areas, such as California, Texas and Florida, along with the slowed re-opening of the New York City economy. In our view, it would be surprising to see theaters able to re-open nationwide before September, at the earliest.”
I can’t imagine Christopher Nolan will release the film in Asia-Pacific or Europe without being able to release in North America. I will update this post as soon as confirmation as to Tenet’s release is announced.
Can’t say I’m surprised. But definitely disappointed – for them, as much as us. It must be very frustrating.
