So Austin Hargrave took these photos at The Chateau Marmont on 12 May 2014 – nice pre birthday present for us Rob.  The cover is no. 14 in the list of 100 Greatest Hollywood Reporter Photos of 2014:

and then I saw this version on Austin’s Facebook which is slightly different in how it’s cropped – by Austin not me – to previous versions we’ve posted.  Yeah I know I’m clutching at straws.

    This is such a beautiful shot. Looking at many of the others, Hargrave has broken from the typical Hollywood Reporter mode to capture Rob for the cover.
    And your find on his website @Maria – is gold. Not constrained by a an editor. These little things excite me. Going to the source is what you are good at, and it really does pay off.

    Heh heh heh… of course, I was dying to know which thirteen were better than the stunner of Rob – turns out NONE were. So, I guess it’s Number One after all!

    Beautiful cover, absolutely breathtaking. LOVE this shoot so much. Not clutching at straws at all Maria, we love your thoroughness. Thank you for sharing 🙂 Would love to see some outtakes from the shoot *puts it out there*
