David Michod Part of FlickerLab at 23rd Annual @Flickerfest Bondi Beach, 10-19 January 2014

Seeing as it seems like a Rover kind of day, I thought I’d share some exciting news about David Michod.  For those in Sydney, David will be part of FlickerLab at The 23rd International Short Film Festival, (Flickerfest) held at Bondi Beach between 10 – 19 January 2014.  FlickerLab is on Friday 17 January 2014:

“Session: DAVID MICHÔD IN CONVERSATION

WITH GARRY MADDOX – 11.45pm-1.15pm

Join David Michôd the highly acclaimed director of Animal Kingdom and former Flickerfest winner in conversation with Sydney Morning Herald’s Film writer Garry Maddox. This intimate in conversation is your chance to hear from one of the Australia’s most exciting working directors. David will discuss his career path, from independent short filmmaker to feature film director. Areas of discussion will include script development,working collaboratively, casting, directing actors, where ideas come from & how to make the leap from shorts to features. David will share some thoughts on his second feature film THE ROVER, which is due for release in early 2014.  Excerpts from a number of David’s short films (many of which were Flickerfest award winners) will be screened & discussed as part of the session. FEATURING (Film Critic, SMH), David Michôd (Director, Animal Kingdom, The Rover)”.

Excitement.  And did you notice “THE ROVER, which is due for release in early 2014“.  Epic start to my holidays.  I know I’ll be there with Vertigo.
