Vertigo’s Rob Moments from 2012
Happy New Year ALL! Am loving looking forward to 2013 with our amazing new banner made straight from the heart – thanks Jules.
So here we are, celebrating Rob moments from 2012 and I have to say, it was not easy pin pointing just a few. At first I was a little surprised to see Rob’s Aussie visit wasn’t among my choices (I mean the photo shoot was to die for), but then realised that was more of a personal life highlight meeting the man, than Rob career thing, so it’s safe to say am all good.
Favourite Photo Shoot
Just like everyone, I went nuts for all Rob’s photo shoots this year and it was a tough choice breaking it down between pure Rob, or Rob opening our senses doing art. In the end, a toss of the coin helped bring me to a combination of both. Kind of.
I fell in love with the attitude of the Black Book photo shoot and wish it came in mega HQ, or life size, whichever shows up first.
Favourite TV Appearance
All of them! haha ok ok. As much as I loved the fun Rob had on some shows, it was Rob the story teller that stuck with me most this year. On Kimmel I found Rob pushing the barriers just that little bit further. A smart, confidant, cheeky, manly yet gentle Rob, with a voice that could melt icebergs and pretty damn stylish to boot. Such a highlight in Rob interview history for me. What a thrill ride and Rob was so much on fire, I was on the edge of my seat thinking what will he come up with next … and then there it was. LOL

Favourite Movie Premiere
Rob brought us so many amazing moments from premieres with all those gorgeous suits and different do’s. In the end it was the entire Cannes experience, the heart pounding excitement that will stay with me for many years to come. So proud of Rob and what an amazing time for his career. All that hard work and talent at such a young age – to be celebrated among great company and colleagues … what a dream come true. From photocall to press conference to premiere – could not have been happier for Rob.
and just to cheat a little, I’ve placed my vid here which I hope highlights most of the Cannes experience in as short a time as possible. Disclaimer; there are some tiny snippets (bare minimum) which are not related to Cannes, but are still Cosmopolis as the title suggests. Made from the earlier part of the Cosmo promo season.
Favourite Movie Scene
hahaha gee I wonder what it could be.
These are the moments that blew me away. From the passionate physical showcase Rob brought to angry Georges in Bel Ami to Eric’s detachment at the fence when taking Torval’s life (spoiler alert lol). Then moving onto the final moments for Eric, where Rob’s nuances speak volumes. Jesus, you can read every freakin thought! I can still remember how wild eyed and speechless Maria and I were when coming out of the cinema.

So now it’s time to raise our glasses and look forward to what Rob has planned for us in 2013. BRING IT ON Already!

Maria
OMG Vertigo you and I are sistas from another mister hahaha. Spooky how similar our choices and wording is.
I love this fave moments I think we will do it again next year.
Which reminds me – Golden Years – WFE, BD1, Bel Ami & Cosmopolis will be coming soon.
For those who weren’t around for our Golden Years back in 2009/2010 you can click on the “Films” tab above and our Golden Year moments are linked on all the movies that we’ve completed.
Michelle
*giggles* you really are Maria & Vertigo. LOVE your choices Vertigo. Am sitting here grinning while reading your words/looking at everything.
Most definitely am with you on that Maria, the fave moments are going to HAVE to be a yearly thing 😀
Cannot wait to start Golden Years again *claps hands* I LOVE LOVE LOVED doing it last time. Was so much fun.
Vertigo
Yeah and I was that close to putting Fallon, but then swayed the Kimmel way. Would have been identical Maria. LOL – if we’d changed names on the posts, they might not have noticed. lol
Look forward to doing this every year too Michelle.
Yaya Golden years. I already have that all in my head … easy as. Just like Rob makes being a supporter an enjoyable experience.
Cindy
All your choices have been fantastic girls just love them all. But have to say Vertigo like you Torval and Eric blew me away. Not only in the book but seeing translated to the screen i was wide eyed too don’t think i blinked during the whole movie. A question i want to ask Rob if i ever have the privilege of meeting him why he thinks Eric killed Torval.
Sue
Oh Vertigo, Im so glad you chose that Kimmel interview. 2012 The Story Teller ~ PERFECT!!! Laughed my head off watching this again, so funny. Thank you.
Vicky
These are brilliant Vertigo. Loving the fave moments posts!!!!!
Golden Years returning, oh hell yes that makes me happy!!!!!
Maria
@Cindy I recall something about Eric killing Torval because Torval is the obstacle between Eric meeting Benno … but it would be interesting to see what Rob says.
Vertigo
That’s how I understood it Maria.
It’s a great question Cindy – I’d love to hear Rob’s take on it too.
Carmel
@To you two sistas from another mister – I went and saw Les Mis in Gold Class (first time) the other day and swear I came out of that experience so jealous of Maria and Vertigo for seeing Cosmopolis in Gold Class. If ever a movie was made for that environment it is Cosmo. Sooooo Jealous.
Michelle
Same here Maria & Vertigo, that was my understanding too.
Rob’s take on it is definitely something I would LOVE to hear.
Vertigo
Hey Carmel – we saw Bel-Ami in Gold Class so you don’t have to be too jealous. I agree though, it’s a great way to experience a great movie.
Suze
I think it’s safe to say that we all loved tattooed Rob. Vertigo, I love your favorite movie scenes vid! Great choices. 🙂
Jules
Brilliant wonderful choices Vertigo….thank you so much for sharing all this Rob goodness with us. Loved reading your comments….gold. 🙂 I’ve so enjoyed seeing everyone’s choices 🙂 *mwah*
Carmel
@Vertigo – Ohhhh, my mistake. Georges would still be wonderful.
Trish
Just gonna chuck my two cents worth in here about why I think Packer killed Torval. Is it just another thing Eric hasn’t yet experienced – killing someone, I mean? Looking into a man’s eyes as he’s dying – that’s something Eric can’t buy and he’s always wanting ‘something more’. Getting tasered is another, and shooting his hand is another one – that kind of pain isn’t something he would experience in his controlled, ordered life, but now that the world around him is disintegrating, all bets are off. The final experience is of course, dying himself, which mercifully, we were spared from seeing. Jeez, hope this hasn’t come out sounding too wanky, but this film made me think – is still making me think. Anyway, thanks for sharing your choices with us, Vertigo!
