Hear that stalkers – NO SLEEPING OUTSIDE.
Love that they aren’t allowing live audience questions – thank you David for making sure Rob isn’t harassed about anything BUT the movie. We all know what the questions would be otherwise.
Oh and livestream and on demand – hope it’s accessible in Oz.
Thanks Suze!
Jules
Thanks Suze and couldn’t agree more @Maria. Brilliant BRILLIANT way to do this – let him concentrate on the movie and nothing else. You know someone would manage to slip something irrelevant in. *rolls eyes* So looking forward to more Cosmo promo and seeing Rob and David work their magic again!!!! 🙂
Michelle
*nods* to your comments Maria & Jules. I am SO SO glad that there is no live Q&A for this. So so pleased. David, I love that you always look out for Rob, you are a wonderful man.
Fingers crossed we can see the stream here in Oz *pretty please* Cannot wait to see the brilliance that is Rob & David together again 😀 Thanks Suze.
Sare
With you all on the Q&A. Although I am not naive enough to think some stupid journalist isn’t going to slip something in, I hope they focus on what he’s there to promote. I’m so excited to hear Rob and David talk about this film again!
@Maria LOL ‘hear that STALKERS’. Don’t think they’ll take any notice to be honest!
Can’t wait to see the bromance between these two continue and to see Robs face 😀
Thanks Suze
Sue
Can’t wait to see Rob & David together again. So glad they’re organising it this way ~ praying for some decent questions now. Fingers crossed we’ll be able to watch the livestream here in Oz *please please please*.
Thanks Suze ~ and I love the pic you chose to go with this post, too.
Chelsea
Can’t Wait! Sucks that it’s a thursday for us though, I have school and knowing the time difference, It’ll probs be on around 4 in the morning! :/
Carmel
I am so pleased this event is being handled so professionally. Cosmopolis is a magnificent film
And that is what this event is about. Once more, thank you DC. You are an artist and a gentleman.
I finally saw Cosmopolis this morning. Wow. Rob was on a whole new level here. I thought that type of acting would be years away. David is a genius. I am in awe.
No matter how much that last 20 minutes has been built up, I still wasn’t prepared for the tense magic of that scene. It could be a short film just by itself. It has so much power
Cindy
Aww fantastic @Carmel have been hanging out to hear you have seen this brilliant movie And nods to all comments re the press conference. Thanks Suze xx
Carmel
@Cindy – I wish I could go and see it again now, like you did. I am on such a high. A Cosmopolis induced high. Cheers for your birthday. I hope you are getting the day you desire. 🙂
Carmel
@Jules – Forgive me for not mentioning your amazing banner. It is just perfect for the collective euphoric Cosmo mood.
Jules
Aww thanks @Carmel re banner 🙂 So pleased you’ve seen Cosmo & loved it. He’s incredible huh? Love him, love Cronenberg. 😉
Bee Kaye
Thanks Suze for this latest information – so looking forward to seeing RP and DC together again. Cheers.
Carmel
@Jules – Yep. They are a pair made in heaven. I was a little scared because I so loved the book and movies rarely live up to their inspiration. Cosmopolis is the exception that proves the rule. Each actor squeezed so much from Don Delillo’s beautiful prose. I am in awe.
Rob’s performance was unexpectedly brilliant. I knew he would be good, naturally, but as I have said, in my opinion, he was working on a complete new level here. There are now no limits for him. We are in for an exciting ride. I couldn’t be happier.
Elaine
Still in anticipation mode but I am loving all of the comments about Cosmopolis and Rob. Agree with all of your comments love how DC ensures Rob is respected 🙂
Maria
@Carmel – it gets better with every screening. You pick up something new every time. Am about to post about an deal at the Ritz 🙂
Michelle
So thrilled for you Carmel that you’ve seen Eric. He was sooooo worth the wait huh 😀 Sadly I have to head home tomorrow so no more big screen Eric for me 🙁 but soooooooo grateful for the multiple screenings I’ve had. Cannot wait for the DVD so I can experience the brilliance over & over again. Cannot say enough how much I loved & appreciated Rob’s performance & the film.
Ephie
I’m also very pleased about the no live audience decision for the Cosmopolis Q & A. Let’s just concentrate on the movie.
Not long to go for me now. 6:40 tomorrow!!! Carmel your review/reaction has made me even more excited (if that’s possible lol)!! I was prepared to see a different Rob but going by your reactions here I think I’m going to be left speechless as well. I’m planning to see it twice.
Carmel
@Elaine & Ephie – Enjoy the anticipation. I know you will enjoy the movie. I know it.
It was interesting to see the audience at my screening. 10am in Newtown and mostly men. I suspect hard core DC fans. Most stayed till the end of the credits so I guess that would mean a positive reaction
Sue
So great to read everyone’s reactions (especially yours, @Carmel, since I love how you stayed strong and avoided the promo footage in the lead-up). Totally agree re that ‘multiple screenings” are a must (@Michelle, I may have read that a little differently the first time! LOL)…. parts of the dialogue have literally played in my head non-stop for the last 72 hours. Can’t wait to see it again tonight for the 3rd time, using my freebie tickets (thanks again to RPAU).
I’m a little concerned though, that Vicky hasn’t commented ….. hope the paramedics weren’t called ‘coz Eric was too much for her in the end ~ or perhaps she’s just sitting in a theatre somewhere, watching it session after session after session …..
Silvie
Agree with all of the above. Going to see Cosmopolis again for the 3rd time today.
Damn work, even if livestream will be accessible, I’ll miss out because of work.
Elaine
I am back – and yes I have seen COSMOPOLIS 🙂 – I am not very good with descriptions etc., but i absolutely loved the entire movie and Rob just blew me away . I don’t feel that I can do it any justice except to say that I will definitely see it again and again. – (ps I took hubby with me and he also enjoyed it and he hadn’t read the book so I wasn’t sure what he would make of it)
Michelle
You’ve seen Eric Elaine 😀 Great to hear that your husband enjoyed it too. Know what you mean re: not being able to do the film justice. I still cannot put into words how much I loved it. I was so completely blown away by Rob’s performance & the entire film. When I own the DVD it is going to be staying in my DVD player for a very long time.
Maria
@Silvie I’ll miss out on it too due to work 🙁
Maria
@Elaine – glad to hear that it was enjoyed by both. I’m kind of pleasantly surprised by the demographic that is seeing this film – in fact I saw a woman yesterday at the Ritz cinema buying her ticket and she would have been late 60s even possibly early 70s. Love that Rob is being seen by a completely new audience.
See what I mean about doing it justice – just go see it. I’m beginning to suspect that some of the bad reviews were written because it was easier to do that than actually praise it *snorts*
Elaine
@Michelle and Maria cannot wait to see Cosmopolis again – Robs performance was outstanding and would love to see him do another movie with DC, loved it from start to finish – WOW
Jules
Just loving all these reactions here….reading them all over again & grinning like a fool 🙂 multiple viewings is the only way to go….if you are lucky enough to be able to of course 🙂 roll on the DVD, it’s been too long since I witnessed the Eric magic!!!! 🙂
Vertigo
Hopefully we get to see the Cosmopolis event without too much waiting.
I’m getting so excited reading all your feedback from the movie and am thrilled to say that it’s just as poignant after the 3rd viewing … if not more.
I agree – it brings joy knowing there is a wider demographic being exposed to Rob’s brilliance. Happy days!
hahaha Maria – that makes total sense you know … re the critics being lazy and finding it easier to just diss the movie, because lets face it, there’s way too much to praise.
