Sarah Gadon Talks ‘Cosmopolis’ and Rob with Pulp Magazine

Actress Sarah Gadon talks about ‘Cosmopolis’ and working with Rob in this 2011 interview with Pulp magazine.  She’s a class act, indeed. And may I add incredibly insightful and well-spoken. Looking forward to the press junket.

Excerpt…

In Cronenberg’s upcoming film Cosmopolis, (slated for an early 2012 release), Gadon play the better half to another powerful man; this time to a Manhattan multimillionaire who, in the course of 24 hours, loses his entire fortune. Dead centre in another cast of heavy-hitting actors, including Paul Giamatti and Juliette Binoche, it is Robert Pattinson (said millioniare) that has garnered early buzz for the film and by association, brought Gadon’s name to the forefront. In the weeks leading up to pre-production, Gadon consciously avoided any Pattinson-themed media – a near-impossible feat in the climate of Twilightmania.

My decision not to read any of Robert’s interviews or press (stemmed from) my desire to go into the project without any preconceived notions (about him) that might inform our work together.”

Gadon recalls coming into her camera test and sitting across from Pattinson only to emerge, hours later, to mobs of people outside the building screaming his name. She is quick to dispel the “celeb” stereotype, saying that in their working relationship, Pattinson was “refreshingly normal” and perhaps shockingly, “deeply concerned about the development of his career.”

“It was wonderful to watch Robert in such an intelligent project, and for David, (Robert’s fan base) will open up a younger demographic.”

Not a bad deal for Gadon either, for whom both Pattinson’s and Cronenberg’s names will translate too much less anonymity.

If at first somewhat overcome with excitement and anticipation at the thought of working with such big names, Gadon is levelheaded and thoughtful about the process.

She sure is Suze. I just love Sarah. She’s gorgeous in every way. Absolutely cannot wait to see Rob & her together – how fantastic is that going to be. Two well spoken, intelligent people talking about the awesome movie that will be Cosmopolis. Will be brilliant 😀 *claps hands*

Love all the wonderful things she has to say about Rob & it’s never to draw attention to herself, such a pleasant change. I LOVE seeing Rob receive the praise & recognition he so deserves. Know I’ve said it a million times before but it can never ever be said too much. Music to my ears.

Sarah is an actress in my humble opinion who has the same class, talent style and grace as Meryl Streep. And ITA@Michelle how fabulous it will be to see Sarah and Rob together. Thanks for posting Suze ox

I agree @Cindy – I think Sarah is also a breath of fresh air and I find myself often spellbound listening to her in interviews. I cannot wait to see these two together promoting Cosmopolis. I’m loving that Rob is surrounding himself with actors of this calibre … and her comment “deeply concerned about the development of his career” – no need to concern yourself Rob – your fans that appreciate your talent will stick around – as for the ones who only seem to be interested in your body parts – they will move onto the next best thing .. and soon I hope.

    Thanks Suze.

Love hearing and reading what Sarah has to say. She always manages to give an insight into how Rob works as an actor and I really enjoying that side of it. I agree with you ladies, i cannot wait to see these two promoting the movie.

LOL Maria re “interested in your body parts”, I think the saddest thing is that people actually think that makes them huge fans. As I said, very sad and yes, lets hope they move on soon!!

Amen to that Maria. I cannot wait for the day when all those people have moved on & only the true Rob fans like us remain. Ones that truly appreciate Rob & his talent, truly care about the man & his craft. That day cannot get here quick enough, it really can’t.

Thanks Suze. Can’t wait to see Sarah and Rob promoting Cosmopolis, along with everyone else involved, come to think
    about it.
(Ps. Can I stay if I admit to being just a little teeny bit interested in his body parts…..?! *cough*)
