Bel-Ami NOT at Baltic Pearl Film Festival

Surprise Surprise … remember last week when we posted that Bel-Ami might be at this Latvian film festival .. well @Gossipgyal has had this response from the organisers “Unfortunately due to the fact that the premiere of the film was moved BEL AMI is no longer on our program”.   It’s no longer on the Baltic Pearl’s website either.

I’m shocked!  No wait I’m not really, but I’m not kidding when I say that Georges’ “I am going to ruin you” is now playing on loop in my head.  Is it that Protagonist thinks this is the best way to build up hype for the film?  Maybe they really don’t know how to market a completely ruthless Rob (although I doubt it after seeing the teaser).  At this stage I’m throwing my hands up in the air and I don’t really care anymore if the film isn’t being released until next year .. JUST FREAKIN TELL US WHEN!  It’s like torture – I think I might report them to Amnesty.

Vertigo I felt the need to bring out the flamethrower … this is beyond a joke … where’s my lynchmob

I really hope Protagonist know what they are doing with this film because the way things go, Rob will need to think twice before accepting to work in indie films like these. What is the purpose to make a film if it is not going to be released?
    Protagonis, release Bel Ami soon!!!

@mema I don’t think it will affect Rob’s future work – I’m sure there’s a good reason for why we are waiting for it. Who knows, Rob may even be behind it.

OMG Maria, you nailed it using this gif for your reaction to this ‘news’. Can’t understand why? if the Premiere of Bel Ami has been changed, WHY CAN’T WE KNOW THE DATE!!!!!!!. I’m going into meditation mode, so that I can keep myself calm…..and patient and keep Georges Rob on my mind and in my heart. Thanks for info Maria.

UNBELIEVABLE…..WHAT IS THEIR PROBLEM?????? Maybe this hype will make the movie even more popular…if we ever get a release date that is.

It won’t be shown at the Toronto International Film Festival either because it doesn’t have a premiere date … damn them to hell!
