Seriously if this turns out to be false I’m going to go all Georges on everyone.

So it seems that Bel-Ami might be screening at The Baltic Pearl Film Festival which runs from 15 to 25 September 2011.   It’s on their website and also on their twitter page.  Thanks to the lovely Aeren from RobsessedSpain for these twitter screencaps:

RobPattzNews contacted the organisers of the Festival for more information and was told “they can’t release screening dates or any additional information, until an announcement on a world premiere is made. They are hoping it will come soon, and as part of the Toronto Film Festival lineup.”

So since the Festival starts on 15 September – does that mean we are going to hear about the world premiere by then?  Or does it mean that if no world premiere is announced at the Toronto Film Festival then it won’t be showing at the Latvian Festival?  I seem to say this all the time about Bel-Ami but … the plot thickens.  I know that the Australian distributors told me they would let us know soon what is happening.  Ugh … I like a good mystery but really … ENOUGH ALREADY!  Somebody FREAKIN TELL US WHAT’S HAPPENING!  Ah I feel a little better now …

Thanks to RobPattzNews, Spunk Ransom and RobsessedSpain.

Ok, so this means we will have an answer (hopefully) in the next 4 weeks (give or take a day or two).

Enough of this nonsense and just give it up already!
They better have a bloody good excuse for making me anxious about the release date or Maria’s going to be leading an angry mob with torches and maybe a few flamethrowers just for good measure.

ITA with you Lise-lou…this and many other bits are going to be epic on the big-screen eh? It’s so long between shooting & premiere (finally??) – it’ll be like time-travelling for reals, for him & fans. He’s changed so much & so much has happened to him since then!

I can’t work out if the people responsible for Bel Ami’s release date are badly organised or masters at creating free hype. I’m hyped! Let us know already!
