Yeah it’s been rumoured, but I’ve beenwaiting for official confirmation and here it is:

Bring on the end I say … hard to get excited when I’ve seen what Jacob Jankowski is capable of and have been introduced to Eric Packer this week.  Sorry but that’s just me …

I agree with you both Maria and Vicky. As much as I try, I just can’t get into it.

    Maria

    • June 2, 2011 at 9:10 am

Thanks @Vicky – not that I want to be a “downer” I mean Rob looks magnificent, but yeah … bring on the new roles I say!

And let’s be honest MTV are Twilightwhores – even during WFE promos they couldn’t help themselves talking about BD.

I agree with all you have said. Sorry but for me it would be so much more interesting to see photos of Rob filming Cosmopolis in this weekend than seeing him in MTV/SAGA movie awards.

    Maria

    • June 2, 2011 at 9:48 am

Yep! And hopefully if Rob wins any awards they’ll let him do the “hoola hoop” skit!

I love the twilight books/movies as they were my intro to the wonder that is ROBERT PATTINSON. I LOVE anything he is in. Sorry you girls aren’t excited but I for one, CANNOT WAIT!!!!

    Maria

    • June 2, 2011 at 10:01 am

Yeah @Belinda well we understand that Twilight opened up a new world for people, but for us it was the other way around and I think we pretty much got the rough end of the stick so to speak.

    Maria

    • June 2, 2011 at 10:07 am

And @LTav I will raise my hand here and admit that I haven’t even bothered to go to site and vote. These awards are insignificant and lame. I wonder if Rob keeps them in storage in Dubai?

I want Rob to win peer/industry awards like an Oscar, Globe or SAG not one that some twihard has logged into every 20 mins and hits “vote”.

Oh have to say too Have been lovin the fave Rob pic of the day for the past couple! Thanks muchly ox 🙂

Yes @Maria, I think you are right. Everything in this life has its own time. It was good for Rob winning these internet awards for his work in Twilight in the past but now I think he wouldn`t mind if he could be nominated for something different: Remember Me and WFE, for example.

Oh! I raise my hand too. I didn`t vote. Edward will always have a special place in my heart, only this.

I agree Maria, we need the hoola hoop or any of Rob’s ideas this time. They need to listen to him!

    Maria

    • June 2, 2011 at 10:49 am

LOL @Vertigo you know I so want him to do the skit he mentioned on Graham Norton – yeah lock up the screamers and stand there and scream Rob – I love how his mind works 🙂

    Maria

    • June 2, 2011 at 10:50 am

Oh @LTav thanks for saying about Edward having special place because I don’t want people to think I don’t love Rob as Edward. I do, but enough already LOL.

    • June 2, 2011 at 11:03 am

I have loved Rob as Edward but am over it feel like i am a grown up now 🙂 Rob has so many more amazing roles to celebrate and am all for moving onwards and upwards.

    • June 2, 2011 at 11:08 am

Oh and forgot to say I wasnt expecting him to attend thought Cronenberg would have had him locked down in a twi free zone. It’s always lovely to see him even though he doesn’t need to win any awards, he is the freaking award!

    Maria

    • June 2, 2011 at 11:15 am

Lol @lise-lou – Cronenberg as you know has surprised us with the lack of lock down – but then again – nepotism is rife on that set so am not really surprised … oops yeah I said it.

Oh and yes Rob is the award. I’m just glad I won’t be home to have to “endure” this – I still haven’t recovered from the PCAs – dear lord Rob you deserve all the goodness and happiness you so deserve for putting up with all this tripe.

Oh and in case people think I’m not supporting Rob in this film – I’m stating the obvious here but it takes a lot of time and effort to run this blog – I doubt anyone can really question our support …

    • June 2, 2011 at 11:19 am

    You ladies have nailed it.
I thought – another appearance yay!- then I read that Kristen and Taylor were there and I was… less enthused.
As @Belinda said though, I actually really liked the twilight books and have enjoyed the movies as an adaptation of it. I will go and see BD when its released, (and if its not within the first week I’ll be surprised).
That said, I do still see the “limiting” aspect of it.
It was in twilight, where I first heard rob’s beautiful voice (i seriously hadnt really noticed that face especially), then I discovered this site, and him more entirely and…
    Sigh….
    The rest is history 😉

Bring on the the screaming skit I say. That would be a classic.

    liz

    • June 2, 2011 at 11:28 am

Oh @Maria! I hope noone actually thinks you not being supportive of Rob.
You ladies are amazing with how much work you put into this blog!
I understand what youre saying and about the saga – and I loved the books and quite enjoyed most of the movies.
Had I not heard him sing in “Twilight” I would never have discovered this site, and you ladies – let alone Art (no Art! and maybe even no Tyler!)

I think that anyone who really thinks about it can see that while twilight is a great success, it does run the risk of being quite limiting for Rob. He has to work so much harder to break that perception – luckily he is more than equal to the task.
That doesn’t mean you don’t care, it just tends to temper the enthusiasm.
He’s lucky to have fans like all of you.

    liz

    • June 2, 2011 at 11:29 am

Not that he doesn’t deserve you ofcourse 😉

    Maria

    • June 2, 2011 at 11:34 am

Thanks @liz – no I just get so passionate about this man that I forget people assume if you don’t gush and get excited about Twiilght then you clearly aren’t supportive.

There is so much to Rob – and I’m glad that this saga introduced him to a whole fanbase that had no idea he existed, but like I’ve said many times – it’s a double edged sword for Rob (and us sometimes too).

But the success of WFE gives me hope that he will be able to shed the “edward cullen” tag sooner than most people think. I love his choices of roles – like I said before – I just love the way Rob’s brain works.

    Maria

    • June 2, 2011 at 11:39 am

and STAT! @Vertigo. I hope it’s not a repeat of the last two years – it’s getting a little long in the tooth. Oh wait maybe Rob will fulfil that comment he made at Comic-Con in 2009 (or maybe 08) where he said TayTay was the best kisser …

    Belinda

    • June 2, 2011 at 12:22 pm

I really understand the percetion that some people think that the twilight series is too limiting for Rob’s career. But recent, extremely diverse roles show the the industry know robert to be so much more than Edward, just as we all do. The last two twilight movie were CRAP, so I look forward to the final one as it the book is so dramatically different to the 3 previous books. A truckload of ethereal Edward sends my heart a flutter. The anticipation is purely visual…LOL

    Maria

    • June 2, 2011 at 12:28 pm

Oh @Belinda hahaha – i’m so glad you said that – people always expect me to say it. But the last two films – especially Eclipse – were so so disappointing. I used to crap on about Hardwicke, but it’s turned out to be my favourite so far. I don’t know what Rosenburp was thinking when she wrote the script for Edward in Eclipse but it was woeful. He was whipped rather than manipulative and where was his sense of humour?

The only thing I know for sure is that we will undoubtedly have to endure more tragic / cringeworthy lines for poor Kellan Lutz and that Ashley Greene will undoubtedly over act just like she did in the last two. Oh wait and there will be hardly any Edward other than the wedding, honeymoon and birth LOL. Well Eclipse was pretty much his book and where was he???? Just saying …

ITA@Liz I cannot fathom how anyone would think let alone say out loud the girls on here dont support Rob and his career. And Im sorry but when all is said and done you negative peeps this is Maria nd Michelle’s site looked after and finaced by them not you so if you dont like it F”off sorry, and to use your phrase Maria ‘That is All.

Cheers Maria. My favourite Robert movie is Little Ashes. We had a Dali exhibition at our Victorian National Gallery about a year before I saw the movie. I feel Robert portrayed Dali exactly as I imagined him through the works on exhibit. So perceptive!

    Maria

    • June 2, 2011 at 12:46 pm

oh wait – did we talk about that Belinda? I love Rob as Dali as well. I nagged Kojo Pictures for 12 months – they were going to release it straight to DVD here in Oz – finally they listened and asked me to help them find cinemas to screen it. Thank God my local, The Ritz Cinema, Randwick held the screening for us. I had never seen it on the big screen until then. He really became Salvador – he really is a talent – stating the obvious. And you know the ending gets me every time.

    LOL @Cindy hahaha

Ok I’m going to put a positive spin on the MTVMAs – I hope Rob turns up with Eric hair!!!

    That is all

I think everyone agrees that this is the BEST site for Robert info. NO pap pictures, sound and verified info. There is no comparison. All four ladies go above and beyond what us mere mortals are capable of. I think Liz misunderstood. We all have our likes and dislikes in regards to roles Robert does. I, for one, would never, ever ever, criticise the devotion and effort the ladies put in to this absolutely fabulous site!!

@Liz I’m with you on the intro-to-Rob background & I too have to admit a possessing a large soft spot for the twi-movies in the long-ago-adolescent part of my brain 😉 Though since discovering RPAU it’s merely the twi-visual feast I’m interested in, as I do agree Edward’s character became less & less appealing.

@Maria, I agree, I’ve ended up with Hardwicke’s twimovie being my fave too. Very funny your “whipped” comment re Eclipse 🙂 Don’t get me wrong Liz, I am actually dying to see BD but almost cringing at the same time as I hope the script doesn’t disappoint again for Edward’s sake. Whatever, I’m still going to enjoy the sights, and Rob’s immeasurable talent at coping with this franchise/script restraints 🙂

Maria as always you are rightly & fiercely protective of this remarkable man & your (and Michelle & girls) remarkable site. I hope you know we all love you for bringing us both.

    Maria

    • June 2, 2011 at 3:05 pm

LOL @Val he was whipped – omg I suppose what hasn’t come through with all my whining and bitching about twi is that – Rob is AMAZING as Edward especially when you consider what he was given to work with.

Let’s face it I’m fanatical (like most of you) when it comes to Rob – I love all of his characters because they all bring a little piece of himself to us, but I truly believe that noone can say they haven’t been blown away by Jacob Jankowski … I’m so happy to sit back and watch Rob hone his craft – imagine what we will see with Georges and Eric … God I’m rambling – this is what that man does to me …

lol @Maria, yeah, amazing hmmmm no-one else makes that makeup look as good (aside from SM’s description of Edward’s beauty as being God-like, now who else could do that?!) 😛

I say, never apologise for admiring and acknowledging the beauty in this world 🙂 Ramble away, please! Dribbling in sympathy with y’all in anticipation of the next two movie characters…

Definitely not just you Maria, I completely agree. Everyone knows my opinion by now – I’ve voiced it enough lol. LOVE Rob as Edward, OF COURSE I do, but we are ready to say goodbye to Eddie & move forward to all of Rob’s brilliant upcoming roles. Thanks so much for your lovely comments ladies, they are so appreciated. Anyone who doesn’t believe that we support Rob 100% – not sure what website they are at, but it’s clearly not ours. We absolutely ADORE this man & his work & have done for a very very long time. I did think that really went without saying.

I agree Maria & Vertigo – listen to the man for heavens sakes & let him do his hoola hoop skit. Rob always knows best. Haha I would SO love to see him do the skit he mentioned on Graham Norton. That was GOLD. So love the way you think Rob.

Oh & did I hear the mention of Rob with Eric hair at the awards? *grins*

Glad you’ve been enjoying the fave pics of the day Cindy, me too. I thought we would go with a ‘Rob’s characters’ theme this week 😀

Please let Rob loose up on that stage. ANYTHING he does is going to be more worthwhile than last year’s tragedy. The Hoola hoop would have been brilliant!

Twi and especially Edward will always have a place in my heart and I’ll be queuing up for tickets to BD happily hoping that the penny has finally dropped that Edward it the star that keeps many of us coming back.
However I’m happy to move on and my excitement for the substance that Rob will bring to Georges and Eric far outweighs anything Twi.

I don’t mind admitting at all that I’m an Edward fan. No other actor could’ve pulled this role off and deliver the amount of charisma that Robert achieves with it. Its bleeding obvious that Robert’s so much more than Edward. He’s delivered real, nuanced performances in LA, RE, Haunted Airman, HTB and of course WFE. I can’t wait to see his interpretation as Eric in Cosmopolis and Georges in BA. What I would also love to see is Robert in a music biopic – maybe an interpretation of the late, great Jeff Buckley. As far as peer cred plaudits goes he will receive them (he has already) more industry peers will sit up and take notice when BA and Cosmopolis are released.
