TICKETS FOR SYDNEY PREMIERE FOR WATER FOR ELEPHANTS *SOLD OUT*

I just got off the phone from Ticketmaster who have confirmed there are NO Limited Release tickets left for the Sydney premiere.  I said – so you can confirm it’s SOLD OUT – their response was a resounding YES!!!

Fantastic everyone.

I’m sticky posting this until they are SOLD OUT – which really should have been at 9.30 am!

It doesn’t say SOLD OUT yet, but when you try to buy just one ticket you “sometimes” get this ——>

We must be so so close now – c’mon anyone sitting on the fence thinking about buying tickets just do it.  And if you are worried about sitting on your own well don’t – you will be surrounded by at least 500 Rob fans sitting in the  mezzanine.  C’mon DO IT! DO IT! DO IT! DO IT! DO IT!  Imagine when you are old and grey and reminiscing about the opportunity you passed up to see Robert Pattinson in the flesh – yeah not a happy thought is it.

You know what a stickler I am so as soon as the SOLD OUT goes up I’ll update this.   I said this on Twitter last night, but I don’t think I can say it enough, to all our affies, non-affies and followers (both local and international) who RT’d, bought tickets, RT’d again, put up with my nagging and pimping and even my possible suggestions of  selling your souls – I thank you from the bottom of my heart because we may not have achieved this without your help.  I asked to make Rob proud and I’m positive we have done that.  Seriously Rob’s fandom with all it’s craziness always comes through when it’s about celebrating this man.

I can’t believe I’m saying this BUT, there are still tickets available for the premiere in Sydney on 6 May 2011 – c’mon people this could be a once in a lifetime event – no wait – this WILL be a once in a lifetime event.  Movies like Water For Elephants don’t come along everyday.  I can’t remember the last time they made a film like this – oh wait yes I can I wasn’t even born!

Click here to purchase your tickets – seriously what the hell are you waiting for.  Rob in Australia.  Rob in Sydney. Sitting in the same cinema as Rob, Christoph and Francis – in my opinion the ticket prices for this experience are a giveaway!!!

It’s killing me but I just can’t go. It would have been easier if the tickets had gone fast. God, give me strength.

Oh god I wish I lived in sydney, and I’m broke & can’t afford an airfare/accom and this ticket.
Crap, credit card is maxed, debts galore, and I’m still thinking of who could make a loan for this.
I’m going to have to win a comp.

I bought mine, very excited and I think I got pretty good seats too. My hands were shaking like made at 9am when I bought them. Now just to sell my Village Gold Class Premiere tickets to friends and organise my flights and accomodation. Cant wait!

    Was this advertised anywhere else?

And we all thought we’d miss out! It seems the sleepless night and the stress was all for nothing. Not that I’d ever change it though. This morning was so exciting, the adrenalin rush at getting the tickets was crazy good!

So many people emailed & asked us if tickets were going to be made available to the public & HERE they are. Go buy them – GO NOW!!!! This is ROB we are talking about – ROB!!! I agree Maria, the tickets are an absolute steal.

hahahaha Carmel – tis the power of Rob, what were you thinking trying to fight it? Watching W4E at the same time as Rob … under the same roof.

Am really happy for you hun, really really happy for you all.

I know Michelle I know … I’m just gobsmacked – Rob in Australia. Rob here with Christoph – seriously this NEVER happens. Ever.

And the opportunity to show Francis that not all his fans are um “obsessive” – you know what I mean.

    • April 6, 2011 at 2:42 pm

well, I’m told the state theater fits like 1700 people or so! we don’t know how many “LIMITED” meant. and we don’t know how many got sold. part of it was probably a marketing strategy to heat up sales.
hopefully it’s like cinema. the further back the better…
looks like we are all sitting above him.

    Maria

    • April 6, 2011 at 2:46 pm

Actually the State Theatre holds more like 3000 – only tickets on the mezzanine section were being sold – I can confirm that the event is heavily booked from today’s sales – not too many tickets left.

Not a marketing strategy sorry cat – please don’t make assumptions about Fox on our website. The dress circle which are the better seats is actually above the mezzanine – so you might be sitting below him – who knows where Rob will actually be.

The State Theatre is a grand old dame – so I doubt there are bad seats anywhere. Oh maybe the stalls which are below mezzanine …

Well said @maria – they should have sold out by 9:30am!!!
God I hope the aussie fans will be well behaved just to prove that we are not all screaming teens.
It would be nice not to be sitting below them though…

    Maria

    • April 6, 2011 at 3:44 pm

I will ask this nicely once more and I understand that you are all excited but please do NOT post your seat numbers or whatever you are planning to do in the comments section of our site.

Don’t be offended when we edit this information from your comments – this is a huge task for us to monitor considering how much promo there is for WFE at the moment.

Like I said – I know everyone’s excited and I may be coming across as harsh, but RPAU has prided itself for years on not posting fan pictures or information – it’s not going to change now that WFE’s premiere is in Sydney. If you want to catch up with others attending then please send us an email to our hotmail account. We will send out a group email in a few days so you can organise yourselves.

    Please respect our wishes.

Whilst I’m at it, I’ve noticed people have also been asking the fans attending to give us their stories – given our policy above – this is going to have to happen via your own personal twitter or Facebook accounts and not on RPAU’s comments section.

    Thank you 🙂

    ephie

    • April 6, 2011 at 4:20 pm

Point taken @maria, thanks for making it cleat what your policy is.
Thanks for your wishes everyone, and Martha I’ll be thinking of you on the day. Wish you could be there too. But the chances of you getting the same opportunity one day are much bigger as you live in Cali.

Thanks @Ephie, that was so sweet of you. Like I said I’ll be there in spririt.

Surely Rob will be in one of those wall bracket things (i cant remember the technical name, theyre the ones the Queen sits in) So that we can have a good look at the pretty?

I can believe we are all still standing. To go from wishing for a Sydney premiere, to a non-confirmed date going out on Facebook (remember that fangirl email Maria? lol) To a confirmed date, to having tickets and sharing the state theatre with him – its a complete whirlwind.

@caro from memory I don’t think the State Theatre has box seats – that’s the Opera House and I think unfortunately it was The Regent Theatre that somehow was allowed to be demolished in the late 80s

I am flabbergasted! Pls don’t tell me there are still tiks available??????? Well…so much for Rob’s fans wanting him to come to Oz…I wonder why? Surely those that live in Syd should have snapped them up by now? Is it possible that there are not as many fans here as we think?
I am truly lost for words that this post is still here…

Totally agree @ephie, I had all intentions to come down to Sydney and go myself, was ready too book but RLhad other plans for me 🙁
I just can’t believe tickets were not sold out by 9.30am.
I know I am heartbroken that I can not attend in person, and I cant even attend the chicks at the flicks on the day either “wipes tears”

I’m pleased to say I’m going. I hope we actually get to see him because they sometimes herd everyone into the theatre first at premiers. Sometimes the stars just do the red carpet. I hope he gets to talk to the audience before the film starts and I hope we see him on the red carpet and dont miss out because we have to be in the theatre before he arrives. Anyone know what the routine is for this red carpet?

    • April 6, 2011 at 9:21 pm

    3 things.

    1. I really envy all of those who will be attending this fantastic night – to be in a position to see Rob in real life would be like a dream!

    2. I was suprised to see that tickets are still available. I know that if I lived in Sydney and did not have to worry about 3 kids, there would definately be one less ticket available : ) I seriously hope that Rob thoroughly enjoys his stay whilst in Australia, so much so that he will return

    3. At least I’ll be enjoying the event as best I can, by attending the premier in Victoria!

@Lids – You & Martha and all those that can’t make it will be with us every step of the way. If it wasn’t for all you making this site so wonderful to visit, I know I wouldn’t have had this opportunity. So you all will all be our hearts. That’s a little smooshy but this occasion calls for extreme emotions. Good luck with your RL stuff.

    Maria

    • April 6, 2011 at 9:23 pm

@jene no details have been released other than the red carpet commences at 6.30 pm and guests to be seated by 7.15 pm as you know – I suspect if there are further details you will either find out when you receive your tickets or on arrival at the event.

I hope we’ll find out a bit more about the arrangements before we get there.

    • April 6, 2011 at 10:20 pm

@ephie I was just about to post my comment below, but I’m not sure want further information you all want – Ticketmaster states that red carpet arrivals start from 6.30 pm so that guests be seated by 7.15 pm in the theatre – it’s clear from the map they have provided that the only entrance will be via King Street. If the further arrangements you want to know is what time Rob will be arriving, I doubt it very much that information will be released to anyone. Obviously I don’t know what security arrangements will be in place, but I suspect they will be tight. It’s not just Rob – it’s Christoph and Francis too.

In any event, what I wanted to say was this:

We are doing our best to bring you news about this event, but it’s still early days – there’s 4 weeks to go and let’s face it this is a huge event to pull together. Just remember it was only two weeks ago that everyone thought no tickets would be available to the general public, so all I’m saying is be patient and as soon as we can update you we will.

But please don’t make me repeat this to each and everyone one of you. It’s starting to detract me from bringing you any other Rob news 😀

    Michelle

    • April 6, 2011 at 10:28 pm

Please do read what we say in the comments everyone. We know you are all excited as Maria has mentioned several times before, but once again, as Maria has said above – as soon as we know any more info we will of course tell you. You know we always do. Patience is what is required now. If we have to keep repeating ourselves it’s not going to be much fun for any of us. Let’s just be happy that Rob is coming HERE 😀

Oh thanks for the clarity M&M’s. I was starting to get a little dizzy with everyone elses confusion, when really there is none. As it currently stands – you rock up, you enter, you sit down and wait for the movie to start, you watch and collectively pass out from the goodness. We could bask in that for a while and see if further details develop, yes? 😀

Sounds like a good deal to me!

Enjoy and remember to take a breath people. We are sooooo privelaged to have this opportunity when so many other parts of the world don’t even have a premiere let alone be allowed to buy tickets. We are indeed blessed 😀

Can I just say that I get a sick feeling at the pit of my stomach everytime I think about it.
I had decided I was not going to spend anymore money on this trip to sydney and gave in to temptation at about 1pm yesterday.
I have been dress shopping, shoe, shopping….
@Maria if it wasn’t for your RTs and you “pimping ( ;D ) I would definitely hahve missed out – And regretted it.

yeah @Vicky just over 24 hours! I’m still surprised it took so long and I have to say I’m freakin exhausted. Nagging is very tiring work.

Now to hassle those who didn’t buy to make sure they line the red carpet along Pitt Street Mall … the things I do for Rob LOL. Although there will be loads just finishing work and hopefully turning up for a sticky. I’ve seen loads of premieres over the years at The State Theatre on my way home during the week, but have no recollection of ever seeing a red carpet start from the King Street end of Pitt St Mall. For those not from Sydney – Pitt Street Mall could possibly be summed up as the heart of the retail district.
