Little Ashes

OK I had  nothing to do with this one, but if you missed the screening of Little Ashes in Sydney in December, then you are in for a treat.  Little Ashes will be screened on at 7.30pm on 13 February 2010 at the Palace Academy Twin, Paddington as part of the QueerScreen’s Mardi Gras Film Festival 2010.  If you want more information or to book tickets, please click on  highlighted link.  Damn I would so be there if I didn’t have a christening that I have already RSVP’d too.  I feel physically ill that I’m going to miss this.  Seriously and I’ve said this a 1000 times – if you haven’t seen Rob as Salvador Dali on the big screen you really need to get  yourselves along to this.

@SR I am in Sydney – which is why I feel sick inside that I can’t be at the screening because of a friend’s christening. Do you think they might miss me at the dinner if I’m missing for 2 or so hours. Damn now I wish I was the quiet type that people never knew if I was in a room or not – hahahaha.

This is such awesome news 😀 Would absolutely LOVE to see Rob as Dali on the big screen. Oh how I wish I could be there, damn living all the way down here in Tasmania 🙁 I totally understand how you feel Maria. I would feel exactly the same. So unfair 🙁

LOL, it appears that I am one of those people that no one notices or at least on one occasion. It was my cousin’s birthday & no one even noticed I wasn’t there hahahaha. I have made them pay since, oh yes I certainly have.

if i could make u feel better i ‘d say that i have to cross the half of the earth to get to sydney.

just for the record.tasmania is full of deserts?

Thanks @SR 😀 No deserts here thankfully. Most of the land here is covered in mountains, forests & rivers. Really is a beautiful place Tasmania but because we are so small we unfortunately never get any special screenings or events like the states on the mainland 🙁

@TessaANZ Kojo are talking with their NZ distributors in relation to LA screenings. It’s still not a NO yet. I will let you know and I’ll ask them about the DVD release in NZ if it’s the same as in Oz. I tell you Sydney & Melbourne were the only two really forthcoming. Kojo organised Adelaide. It’s been great working with them, but I’m still at a loss as to why the screenings weren’t sell outs. Oh well.

I just cannot understand why the screenings for this beautiful film weren’t sold out either Maria. Just completely puzzles me, really does. Totally their loss.

I feel shame I can’t make it. *hangs head* If only the clan hadn’t organised my birthday gathering. Wonder if they’d notice me missing for about 4-5hrs (includes travel time).

Vertigo, I know you’ll have a great birthday surrounded by family & friends. It could be even better if you could convince them to have your party at a certain cinema in Paddington?

I don’t think I can get another leave pass from my parenting duties. I loved the Randwick screening and see it on the big screen sure adds to the event. Lovely, lovely movie. I’ll work on it.

Trust me Carmel, I’d already thought about shifting venues and attempting some conversions. It would be tough to abandon the nine nieces and nephews though, aged between 2 and 15. I’m pretty sure they’d notice the adults were up to something fun and I doubt the movie goers would appreciate me bringing them in to their cinema experience. Nice try though.
