Special Screening of New Moon plus Twilight in Sydney
Hold onto your beanies everyone. The Ritz Cinema at The Spot, Randwick in Sydney is holding a special screening of New Moon at 12.01 am on 19 November 2009. Whoo hoo – I know we’ve already got our tickets and we will be doing a Rob and drinking lots of caffeine during the day to ensure we don’t fall asleep (like that is even possible when he’s on the big screen). In addition to that, they have just confirmed to me that at 9.30 pm on 18 November they will be doing a special screening of Twilight (these details may not yet be on the site). That’s Rob back to back – well almost because there will be a half hour break between the films. Please click here for more details – you need to go to “What’s New, Special Events & Screenings”  for the relevant information. Oh and everyone who purchases a ticket should pick up an entry form to enter for the chance to have a private screening of Twilight or New Moon for you and 20 friends (um – remember there are a few of us here that can be considered “friends”). The Ritz is definitely looking after us! And if you don’t live in Sydney, you can’t say I haven’t given you enough notice to organise those cheap flights!

@ Jasmin, I for one would LOVE to meet the rest of you that get on this, as a mum of a 9 yr old, admittedly I don’t get out much, but i’m slowly getting my life back:) and to meet people with a common interest is such a rare thing for me. I love chatting to you all on here… this is my one separation from reality.. my little escape and I appreciate you all so much.

I hope the cinema’s this end show a back to back too. I have two trips planned to see NM, one with my friend and then with my daughter. I know she will be completely blown away!

@ tlr, I too would be looking at booking flights and acc, but I don’t quite know how to explain to the hubby the need to go to Sydney to see this movie. He might have me committed lol. If the midnight screening happens, I’ll certainly be there trying to reign in the inner fangirl. Let me know if you hear anything we can meet up and fangirl together. 🙂

@ mandy. just tell your hubby that you need a girls weeknight in sydney and that you are catching your close ‘rob’ friends in sydney. lol. mmmmmmmm. i have no hubby or kids (ex the teenages i teach. and if i told them where i would be going they would want to come 🙂 )

Wow how fantastic! Would love to be there, I am in perth but am currently trying to convince the husband it is time to visit the motherinlaw in Sydney! BUT my back up plan is I am going to harrass the cinemas over here to do the same! You are right Maria it suddenly seems real and not so far away!

any idea if there are special screenings elsewhere in Oz? Not that I wouldn’t like to come and meet fellow Rob fans! I’m all the way over in Perth – but would travel to Sydney in an eyeblink 😉

Hi Joanne – at this stage we haven’t been made aware of any screenings in Perth. You might want to ring a local cinema and see if they will do it. Hoyts has distribution rights – so that’s a start.

I’ve booked my tickets and plane fares from Brisbane wooo hooo! Bringing my 19 & 22 y/o daughters. Let’s hope the midnight screening will deter the screaming fangirls!

Georgie the Ritz have advised that any screamers will be asked to leave with no refund. They will give warning before screening. Fingers crossed because they better not ruin clocktower scene with squeeling!

And yes I can’t get a time off either 🙁 and to someone who mentioned a convention.. that’s a great idea.. because everytime I go on about Rob and anything about twilight, I can see the person who’s listening to me starts to give me that look… (like hurry up already or not again) LOL. Good to share this experience to people with common interest. Like someone had said.. its a little escape from sometimes, harsh reality.. 🙂

We haven’t seen the movie yet, it’s 12.01 am on 19th November. So will see it the day before it’s released in the US. Although the premiere in LA is on 16 November.
