King of Pop – Michael Jackson: 1958 – 2009

I’m sorry everyone, but I just felt compelled to do this small post in tribute to Michael (and I’m pretty sure Rob won’t mind me taking this time out from him).  I am still in shock with the news that has come out this morning.  I was fortunate enough to see him perform in 1986 – he was the ultimate showman and few, if any, compare.  Let’s not dwell on the media crap that surrounded him of late and let’s celebrate one truly truly talented man.  Michael your incredible talent will be missed, but thankfully your music will live on – you have been inspirational to so many in that industry.  Our heartfelt condolences to all who knew and loved Michael.  Maria & Michelle.

All I can say is: U-N-B-E-L-I-E-V-A-B-L-E.

I just can’t wrap my mind around it. 🙁

You said it, Maria: an incredibly talented man. I don’t think there’s an equal.

I do hope he has found his peace, at last.

    Rest in Peace.

While I am not a particular fan, I can remember dancing (now showing my age) to Thriller and Billie Jean – fabulous!

We can only hope that the media circus lets his children grow up in peace.

Yes and as much as I hate to say it, Rob will probably get a little peace at the moment too. Although I wish it had been under different circumstances.

I know Seren I know, but it’s such sad sad news, I just couldn’t ignore it. I agree – there would be few people who didn’t have some memory of an MJ song.

The end of an era that’s for sure. So young at only 50 and so talented. The King of Pop has gone to join the king of Rock and like Elvis, Michael has now left the building! My sincerest condolences. Thanks for the moonwalk and the legacy of your music. Michael Jackson, was a brilliant performer and entertainer! R.I.P

I couldn’t beleive it either, I know evryone says it. It felt like the day Steve Urwin died all over again you know one of those bit’s of news that you didn’t see coming. We all loved and will miss Micheal Jackson, it’s like the death of Elvis for my generation. Thank you so much for the post.

I know exactly how you feel Temajin. Am still in such shock over this terribly sad news. Still cannot quite believe it. Such an incredible talent, will be so very very missed.

“The day that music died” all over again :(…

@ Temajin: I was telling exactly that to my colleagues today, about Steve Irwin… I just couldn’t stop crying that day…

    This has been absolutely heartbreaking.

His music speaks all we need to know about this man who ripped up the stage like no other. The genius who wanted nothing more than to [in Michael’s words] “bring joy, escapism and magic to the world”. I can honestly say he did this for me again and again throughout the course of my life – as far back as I can remember.

A beautiful light goes out this day.
Rest in peace little Michael, you are free at last.

I couldn’t believe the news – I was hoping that he would have a concert in NYC so I would be able to see him. I have been playing his songs all morning and my heart goes out to all his family, friends and fans
