Weekly round up of career news for Robert Pattinson

 image host

Not surprising that The Lost City of Z monopolises most of the news for a second week and I have a new favourite promotional still of Henry Costin. THE LOST CITY OF Z: More film festivals and a special screening in London on 35mm no less with David Grann introducing. I also tweeted some links to free screenings in the UK here and here in the UK.  There’s a preview screening in Ireland at Gate Cinema (Cork) on 21 March 2017 and the Irish Times and Entertainment.ie are giving you a chance to win tickets. I also like SpikeIslandCorks’ use of Jules’ edit.  I see so many people using them which is not surprising since Jules should be commissioned to help with all of Robert’s artwork. A new 60 second trailer (which some movie sites are calling new international trailer #2) – I love you Henry Costin beard and all. Oops I said that out loud. Fabulous new UK theatrical poster which I mistook as just a new Irish poster at the time. I’ve also updated the movie reviews with great comments about Robert like this one “Pattinson who pursues his career in an interesting way & who finds here a solid 2nd astonishing role”.  Taiwan has finally added a release date – June it is. TF1 spoilt us with some behind the scenes footage of Robert filming in Colombia. That was a treat. Hope that is included as extras on the DVD/Bluray when it comes out. DAMSEL: Chris Ohlson who is coproducing with Nathan Zellner gave us a sneaky update. IN OTHER NEWS: Aidan Monoghan claims it was a privilege to work on the film – I think the privilege is all ours.  Aidan also posted a photo of promo in the London underground.  The Safdies tell fans to be patient and watch A24 closely for any news on Good Time. Jules amazing edits for LCOZ here and here. COMING UP NEXT WEEK:  The Lost City of Z will be officially released in France and Belgium; BFI Southbank has a special screening introduced by David Grann on 15 March ; there’s a special screening of The Childhood of a Leader at the Mermaid Arts Centre on 13 March 2017 and tickets for DIFF17 go on sale to the public on 16 March 2017. Hope I haven’t missed anything – but I’ll tweet it if I have. See you next week – can’t wait to see what it brings.

Weekly wrap up of career news for Robert Pattinson

Generally quiet week this week and surprisingly I don’t really have much to say. THE LOST CITY OF Z:  I tweeted a link to the dubbed trailer for The Netherlands. I came across a Berlinale red carpet interview that wasn’t new, but the angle that it was filmed was.  More film festivals have added the film either to a special screening or in competition – this time in North Carolina, Cleveland and Latvia. Latvia also has an April release date and French speaking Switzerland has pushed their date back to May. Australia has given the film an “M” rating which is good and we have another new Henry Costin still plus for those who speak French – 12 pages in Cinema Teaser magazine. We also have new footage of Henry Costin thanks to Studio Canal UK. Film Comment interviewed James Gray who had some wonderful words to say about Robert, but if you don’t want spoilers *coughCarmel* don’t read the interview or my extract on the post. IN OTHER NEWS:  Cassian Elwes tweets that Queen of the Desert will be released on 14 April 2017 in the US. The Lost City of Z Movie Tie In paperback will be released on 7 March 2017. I found an article that claims Robert has signed on for a fourth year with Dior – not that we didn’t already deduce that!  Brady Corbet won a Kodak award and The Guardian’s readers thought The Childhood of a Leader should have won an Oscar.  Beautiful photos of Robert by Denis Makarenko – I especially love his black and whites. Good Time soundtrack seems to be coming along. COMING UP NEXT WEEK:  The Lost City of Z will be at the following film festivals: Luxembourg on 6 & 7 March, Gasparilla on 6 March, the Omaha on 9 March 2017.  There’s a preview screening in Belgium also  on 9 March.  You can catch The Childhood of a Leader on SkyNZ on Saturday 11 March 2017.  See you next week.

THE LOST CITY OF Z:  Portugal, Argentina and Russia have both pushed back their release dates. We finally have a release date for Australia even though it’s not until August. The HQ goodness from both Berlin and London keep on coming – thanks Posh. Some of those pics are killers. New stills and perhaps one Behind the Scene as pointed out by Posh.  Loving the promo. Lots of film festivals including the film in their line up – Gasparilla Boston and Omaha. The film was also the surprise film at the Glasgow Film Festival but from twitter I gleaned that not many appreciated the film. Oh well.  Some though have had some great things to say about Robert, like this “ The young British star has systematically built a credible dramatic reputation beyond the hysterical screaming of young adult fiction fans.” – good reason for me to update the Movie Reviews.  DAMSEL: David Zellner confirms that they are currently working on soundtrack. HIGH LIFE: We already knew the film is scheduled to start filming in August, but it’s still good to see Mia Goth say she’s going to be doing the film soon.  QUEEN OF THE DESERT:  In Competition as the Gasparilla International Film Festival and available on DVD in Czech Republic & Slovakia from Wednesday. THE CHILDHOOD OF A LEADER: SKY NZ will be screening the film on a Saturday night. Know what I’d be doing if I was in NZ on 11 March. IN OTHER NEWS: Jules treated us to some great LCOZ edits here and here. Xavier Beauvois shared a black and white version of Robert’s photo with Claire Denis.  Dior has added Dior Homme Sport to their website and was promoting “Life is a Playground” on social media. For those who follow our instagram you would have notice we reposted the video. Apparently Robert was a fashion highlight at Berlinale and best dressed for the week. What about that new Berlinale portrait – I don’t think I can think straight. COMING UP NEXT WEEK: You can catch a screening of Queen of the Desert on 3 March 2017 if you live in Tampa, Florida at the Gasparilla Intl FF or buy it on DVD in Czech Republic and Slovakia. See you next week.

Holy Moly what an onslaught! Not sure I will ever recover from this week and a huge thanks to Suze who helped me out for the UK premiere *hugs* THE LOST CITY OF Z:  Release dates are coming thick and fast and I’m loving it – except for us Aussies, but patience is a virtue. New Zealand has pushed it back by yet another week.  Another day another film festival, this time included in the “Premiere Section” of the Dallas International Film Festival. Berlinale came and went and boy did we get spoilt – how about that Star Portrait – Holy Mother of God – not sure how but Robert gets more handsome every year.  London surprised us (or me at least) with a photocall.   Posh did an exceptional job of keeping us up to date with all the HQ Robert goodness – can never thank her enough for all she does for this fandom.  There are so many posts of HQ photos, social media and videos that instead of posting each link below, I created a Master Post for all premieres for The Lost City of Z.  So now you have a one stop shop starting with NYFF, Berlinale and now London.  The links are below.  I will continue to add premieres to that post as and when they happen.  Vogue called Robert a “bad boy all grown up” or something like that and Harper’s Bazaar gave us some behind the scenes photos of the UK premiere.  Beautiful shots.  The video interviews out of the UK are slowly coming out – I love Robert crashing Sienna’s interview for the BBC|Time4News. Again, thanks to Posh we have some new stills which contain spoilerish photos so I won’t say too much about that. I know Carmel would hunt me down. DAMSEL: I hope this update on IMDbPro means we will get some release news soon *fingerscrossed*. DIOR:  New piccie … that is all. IN OTHER NEWS:  How about that new photoshoot pic – where has that been hiding since 2015! We celebrated an RPAU birthday this week. Robert definitely spoilt Vertigo that’s for sure.  Jack Whitehall mentioned auditioning for one of Robert’s movies – I’m guessing from the description he’s talking about missing out on playing Connie’s disabled brother in Good Time. I’ll be honest I have to always be reminded who Jack is – maybe that’s why he continually mentions going to school with Robert. I guess I’ll forget about him until his next mention comes along. The Childhood of a Leader will be playing at the Galway Film Society today.  COMING UP NEXT WEEK:  The Lost City of Z will have an advanced screening in Paris.  Sorry I’ve run out of steam and with the two premieres this week I’ve not had much time to check out what’s been happening elsewhere. See you next week.

It’s definitely been an LCOZ week and how brilliant is our new banner celebrating the film and Berlinale.  Thanks so much Jules – you’re amazeballs.  THE LOST CITY OF Z:  Promo Rob twice in one week – it’s been years since that happened. And thanks to Elise we know the release date in The Netherlands. Constantin Films (Austria) have unveiled the official poster. Paris is having a preview screening on 21 February 2017 ahead of the 15 March release date. Aidan Monaghan updated his website with some stills (not new) for the film, which was great because we had that Entertainment Weekly one properly untagged, well it’s tagged but  by Aidan so that’s all good. I realised my mistake post posting the win for the Beautiful Swimmers Award at DCEFF – I should have used the gif of Robert coming out of the river.  My bad. Hope those that can see the advanced screening in Washington DC enjoy – esp since James Gray will be attending. I wasn’t kidding when I said promo for this film had kicked off. Now it’s included in official competition at the Luxembourg City Film Festival. Fingers crossed it wins.  I tweeted THR’s festival review and short interview with David Grann and hence updated the reviews post. GOOD TIME: Memento Films are looking for distributors at EFM and Berlinale. I hope some Aussies put up their hand. THE CHILDHOOD OF A LEADER: Australia – looks like you can pencil in 20 April. Now we just need to find out which cinemas will screen it. Stay tuned.  DIOR:  Full HQ version of that photo – it’s what dreams are made of. HIGH LIFE:  It’s nice to see it being talked about isn’t it. IN OTHER NEWS: I guess we know which movie Harmony Korine is doing next and it’s not The Trap. Deadline had an exclusive clip for The Lost City of Z that features Charlie Hunnam. Simon & Schuster have given the UK a chance to win 2 tickets to the UK premiere. COMING UP NEXT WEEK:  The Lost City of Z Press Conference and Premiere at Berlinale! Did you see how they were promoting the stars – how great does Robert look in that window. I better get some rest, next week is going to be busy and thanks to the time zones it’s not going to be favourable for us Aussies. See you then.

THE CHILDHOOD OF A LEADER:  With the release of the film on DVD in the UK I thought I would update the movie reviews.  THE LOST CITY OF Z:  Now we know – red carpet premiere at Berlinale is on same day as press conference – 14 February 2017.  Robert is exclusively attending the press conference (9.30 pm AEST) and red carpet premiere (red carpet will probably be around 6.30 am AEST 15 Jan).  There are also 3 more screenings of the film at Berlinale. Belgium found a distributor and a release date. The Netherlands so far only has a distributor but no release date confirmed. How about that new theatrical poster – it’s bootiful. I really love the colours and tone. Although Amazon Studios is calling it a teaser poster.  The UK has also launched an alternative poster (secretly I prefer Jules’ version).  I also spied Robert in that new still featured in National Geographic’s write up “The New Film, The Lost City of Z, Celebrates Adventure”.  The US has launched its official trailer with new scenes from Robert. Promo has well and truly begun. New Zealand has pushed back their release date by a week. DIOR:  So there is a new commercial with new footage, but not from Robert – instead we see some of Romain Gavras’ shots  Not complaining.  Love the song choice.  Robert was also featured in Indonesian magazine DA MAN.  HIGH LIFE: We have a date for the start of filming – August 2017.  IN OTHER NEWS:  The Octopus Project is working on Damsel project, although we already knew this.  Still nice to see in print.  Metrograph NYC will be screening The Lost City of Z in 35mm and will also have a James Gray retrospective from 12 April.  I will update you all closer. I have to say I loved Metrograph – which I was in NYC.  Robert paid Claire Denis & Xavier Beauvois a surprise visit – well it was a surprise to us it may not have been a surprise to Claire.  COMING UP NEXT WEEK:   Berlinale tickets go on sale for The Lost City of Z on Monday, 6 February 2017.  Members of the Walker Arts Centre and IFP Minneapolis can watch The Lost City of Z on Tuesday 7 February 2017.  Looking forward to see what unfolds next week!  See you next Sunday.
