UPDATE: 21 December 2021

Empire shared this excerpt from their interview with Rob where he talks about his ‘map’ of where he’d go with the character over two more films” if they were to happen:

“But if nobody is talking about crossovers or specific sequel plans yet, Pattinson has had thoughts about where he’d take his version of Bruce Wayne if future instalments were to materialise. “I’ve made a kind of map for where Bruce’s psychology would grow over two more movies,” he says. “I would love to do it.”

Oh Rob we would love you to do that too.

More excerpts from Empire thanks to Slash Film. Rob talks about the Batmobile:

In the Batman issue, Pattinson confirms that the souped-up Batmobile was a labor of love. “Bruce built it himself,” says Pattinson,” so there’s this kind of tangibility to it.” With this description, the vehicle is a far cry from the militarized Tumbler that rolled its way through Christopher Nolan’s “Dark Knight” trilogy. Squinting at the images released so far from the film, the car appears to be of the late 1960s — last year, Car and Driver offered the possibility that it could be a 1969 Dodge Charger, while Hot Cars suggests that the car, “oozes the Chevrolet Camaro’s style with its elongated front and the fascia.”

For Reeves, the car is more than a fun gimmick in the Bat’s playroom; it’s an extension of the man himself, adding to his intimidating aura. What might surprise viewers is how he leans into the vibe, using a horror icon as inspiration. The director tells Empire: “It has to make an appearance out of the shadows to intimidate, so I thought of it almost like Stephen King’s [possessed motor] Christine. I liked the idea of the car itself as a horror figure, making an animalistic appearance to really scare the hell out of the people Batman’s pursuing. There is absolutely a horror-genre aspect to this movie.”

Total Film talks Matt Reeves’ “The Batman” in their Christmas 2021 Issue:

Consider Batman, rebooted and suited under the tantalising watch of director Matt Reeves, whose breakout pics involved monsters (Cloverfield) and vampires (Let Me In). For Reeves’ Robert Pattinson-fronted The Batman, fear is emphatically a tool. “This movie, I think, is probably the scariest Batman that’s been done”, says Reeves, “because the idea o what Batman’s doing – it’s scary”. As for Paul Dano’s Riddler, he won’t just be good at barista skills, as the trailer shows. He’s “very scary” too, says Reeves, who drew on the Zodiac Killer for the puzzler’s homicidal hoopla.

Even with Catwoman (Zoe Kravitz) and Penguin (Colin Farrell) recalling Tim Burton’s Batman Returns, Reeves reckons Batman has “never been done in quite this way”. “It’s a detective story, it’s an action movie and it’s a psychological thriller”, he says. A serial-killer investigation as a deep dive into Bruce Wayne’s psychosis, then? We’ll take that.

Onscreen Magazine also has Rob on the cover and had this to say about Rob’s Batman “Pattinson’s caped crusader is sure to be both the hero we need … and the hero we deserve”.

It also appears that =it was confirmed there is a press junket underway with Nando Rohner confirming he had spoken with Rob and other cast members (see tweet below).

Excites!

Not sure whether I believe some of this – Rob is about to launch his own line of clothing? Well he did say years ago that he liked designing women’s clothes but then again we know Rob is the King of Clickbait. I also suspect an increase in traffic at LA stores Sleeper and Bearded Beagle. Here is a very rough translation:

He is the muse of the Modern Tailoring collection, a concise wardrobe couture spirit and street spirit, created by the artistic director, Kim Jones, for Dior Homme. Passionate about fashion and the kind to dare everything, Robert Pattinson is said to be even about to launch his own line of clothing. But shh … it’s too early to talk about it.

UNDER THE LENS of the paparazzi or the lights of the red carpet, the allure of Robert Pattinson’s look is blowing in the opposite direction. Baggys, vintage T-shirt, camouflage hoodies, beanie, skate sneakers … versus tuxedos shorts, Luke Skywalker fawn coat, shine and transparent. On the screen as in the city, the English actor catapulted to stardom thanks to Twilight, polished by James Gray, David Cronenberg, Christopher Nolan and soon on the verge of donning the cape of Batman, dares everything. He was chosen by Kim Jones, artistic director of Dior Homme, to embody the Modern Tailoring collection, an ideal wardrobe reduced to the essentials (three jackets, three pants), a mix of couture and street. A fashion enthusiast, he might even launch his own line of clothes …

What are the three basics of your wardrobe?
A beanie, a sublimely knitted hoodie and another very soft gray from Dior.

What is your favourite piece of clothing?
I have a hard time naming just one. Recently, I’ve been sorting through my wardrobe and have been unable to part with some pieces that I know I’ll never wear. Including because some of them are in an advanced state of decomposition. I keep them only for their sentimental value, for what they remind me of. I’m not very nostalgic by nature but I like the idea that a piece of clothing or an object is imprinted with a memory.

Your favorite materials?
Cashmere, and more recently linen.

Which men, in your eyes, embody elegance?
Alain Delon and Tupac Shakur.

Robert Pattinson & Dior B27 Sneakers Featured in L’Uomo Vogue Italia

L’Uomo Vogue Italia published this article about Rob and Dior Men’s B27 sneaker. I love that they said this:

The result of a sophisticated assemblage, the shoes’ inlays are combined and layered to create a unique, three-dimensional effect. The result is a design that combines both impact and depth – two qualities personified by Pattinson.
