Nominations were announced this morning for the Critics Choice Association’s 5th Annual “Critics Choice Super Awards and Rob (Best Actor, Science Fiction/Fantasy Movie) and Mickey17 (Best Movie, Science Fiction/Fantasy Movie) picked up a nomination each, as did Naomi Ackie (for Best Actress, Science Fiction/Fantasy Movie).
The Critics Choice Super Awards, honor the most popular, fan-obsessed genres across both television and movies, including Superhero, Science Fiction/Fantasy, Horror, and Action. The Association is the largest critics organisation in the US and Canada and represents almost 600 media critics and entertainment journalists. It was established in 2019 with the formal merger of the Broadcast Film Critics Association and the Broadcast Television Journalists Association, recognising the intersection between film, television, and streaming content.
Voting commences on 14 July 2025 until 6pm on 21 July 2025. Winners will be revealed on CriticsChoice.com on Thursday, 7 August , 2025 at 9:00am PT (which I believe will be around 1am AEST).
During Cannes, AFCinema interviewed Die, My Love cinematographer, Seamus McGarvey, about his experience on shooting the film and fortunately shared four new stills featuring Rob. Click on the hyperlink above to read the interview.
This is another master post as I suspect there will be a gazillion photos and videos and the other general Cannes Master Post will not cope. This page will also be updated frequently.

You will recall further down the post there is a photo of Rob with video game designer, Hideo Kojima. Here’s the story about how that meeting came about:
There was a party after the screening of Die My Love at the Cannes Film Festival, where all the celebrities were gathered, and tickets were needed to get in. Kojima was short two tickets, so he emailed Robert Pattinson, who immediately replied, “How many do you need?” and sent it right away. After the meeting, they talked about things he can’t talk about now…
For those lucky enough to have bought Sydney Film Festival tickets, Hideo will be in conversation with George Miller on 14 June 2025. Hopefully we can find out a little more about what he’s working on ….
For those who didn’t have a chance to watch the press conference, here it is thanks to The Sunny Mango. For some reason it was never uploaded to the official Cannes website.
Two years to the day and Interview Magazine shared some BTS photos on their IG account to celebrate Rob’s birthday – two of which are new to us. Happy for them to keep this as a tradition as long as we get to see more BTS.
