I’m bringing this forward because I can’t believe it’s been 7 years since this amazing event happened. Still cringe that my nerves made me talk over Rob.

I’m going to let the BOSS Rob do the talking here.

Clickety click to watch and don’t forget to go see The Rover! Like you all need a reminder.

We are yet to come down from the best night ever! It’s been an awesome adventure seeing Rob come back to our shores to celebrate the release of a movie he is obviously thrilled to have worked on. \o/

and here it is …

“Don’t hate me ’cause I’m beautiful”. How poignant was this scene and Rob’s portrayal in yet another underrated role. I loved this film.

I posted this back on 10 July 2013 and brought it forward today since I shared the above snippet on Twitter as part of “THAT TIME ….“. Rob’s reaction still makes me laugh.

I have been meaning to post this for some time and I saw @RobsMyFifty and @JlynCSS tweeting about it yesterday, so I promised them I would blog it today.   I remember contacting Kristina back in 2009 to ask her if she minded me posting the vid.  She was so sweet and I told her I thought she was really clever in getting Rob’s attention.  I think Jumping Rob at the BD2 LA premiere is probably my other favourite attention grabber.  So without further adieu here’s Kristina and Rob … still love it and Rob’s reaction is gold.  I guess seeing as we are focussing on 2008 it’s only fitting that I post this now.

And here’s Rob on the radio the next day where he mentions it again.  Thankfully Kristina has the snippet

Re-celebrating Rob as T E Lawrence in The Queen of the Desert. This was our post in 2016

Some people hated it, some loved it – I fell into the latter category surprisingly since I’m no fan of two of the costars, but there you go.  Proof that you shouldn’t listen to critics or base your choices on previous films.  I thought Rob’s portrayal of T E Lawrence was gold.

Movie Monday Spotlight on Robert Pattinson in Good Time as Connie Nikas

Back in July 2015, a little known project called Good Time was announced by the Safdie Bros that would feature Robert Pattinson as the lead.ย  All we knew was that it was a bank robbery caper.ย  Information about the film was kept under wraps, filming even more so.ย  And weren’t we treated to one of the most amazing performances Rob has ever given.ย ย Rob talked about filming under the radar:

โ€œIf someone sees two grown adults having a strange interaction with each other, people avoid it,โ€ Pattinson says. The paparazzi and his rabid fans (known as โ€œTwihardsโ€) also were MIA: โ€œThere wasnโ€™t a single cellphone picture of me the whole time. I was so concerned about that happening, because I loved [the idea] of the film world being blurred with reality and having people on the street react to you.โ€ย Associated Press

No doubt Rob was thrilled with the result.ย  When Good Time premiered in competition at Cannes in 2017 it received a 6 minute standing ovation and although it didn’t win the Palme D’Or or Rob best actor, the accolades kept on coming.ย  ย Here’s a few just to remind us:

It features a strong performance from the criminally underratedย Robert Pattinson,ย Collider

[Pattinson]ย once again demonstrating his capacity and range in a commanding, robust performance,ย The Hollywood News

Pattinson delivers a manic, adrenalized performance in the vein ofย Robert DeNiroย in โ€œMean Streets, a film to which โ€œGood Timeโ€ often pays homage.” The Wrap

Iโ€™ve never appreciated Pattinson as an actor, not even for his acclaimed roles in THE LOST CITY OF Z or COSMOPOLIS. But heโ€™s on fire here with whatโ€™s easily a career-best performance.ย  Awards Daily
