Deadline released an article today about it’s :most valuable blockbustre tournament of 2022 and gives some solid figures about what Rob’s The Batman grossed both at cinema and streaming:

“When it comes to evaluating the financial performance of top movies, it isn’t about what a film grosses at the box office. The true tale is told when production budgets, P&A, talent participations and other costs collide with box office grosses, and ancillary revenues from VOD to DVD and TV. To get close to that mysterious end of the equation, Deadline is repeating our Most Valuable Blockbuster tournament for 2022, using data culled by seasoned and trusted sources.

Warner Bros made a controversial move to shift its 2021 theatrical slate to a day-and-date strategy with HBO Max. After great ire around town, Warners returned to a theatrical release window strategy with The Batman, and moviegoers promptly flocked back to the cinema to see it. The film became the fifth-biggest domestic opening ever in March with $134 million, and a $225M global debut. Newly installed Warner Bros motion picture bosses Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy soon signed Reeves to a multi-year first-look deal; he is spinning off his Batman universe into an HBO Max series centering around Farrell’s Penguin. Despite James Gunn and Peter Safran taking over DC from former head Walter Hamada and planning their own Batman movie, Brave & Bold, Reeves’ Batman 2, which is currently in script stage, remains on track. The sequel is billed as an else-world part of Safran and Gunn’s DC universe and has set a theatrical release of October 3, 2025.

AnOther magazine recently interviewed photographer | director Gabriel Moses during which he dislosed that he’s currently working on a script with Rob:

“When I ask Moses if he has any interest in directing a feature-length film, he tells me he’s currently collaborating with Robert Pattinson on a script. “I’m 24 and I mention that because I’m very keen on learning,” says Moses. “But I’m very excited to step into that direction. It’s a world I approach with relaxed energy, with no pressure.”

Who is Gabriel Moses? Apparently Moses’ career was kickstarted as an18 year old when he directed an ad for Nike. He is currently having his first exhibition at 180 The Strand from 5 to 30 April 2023 and this is from their website:

“A self-taught photographer, Moses was offered his first directing role with Nike at the age of eighteen and went on to be the youngest photographer to shoot a cover for Dazed. He has collaborated with brands and designers including Adidas, Beats by Dre, Dior, Moncler, Supreme, Apple, Burberry, Virgil Abloh and Pharrell. His photographs have been featured in publications including Harper’s Bazaar, The Face, i-D, 032c and The New York Times.” [My emphasis]

I received a curious notification on 21 March 2023 through my IMDbPro and that was confirmation that Rob is attached to The Batman 3. Interestingly it doesn’t appear on Rob’s upcoming projects, but if I click on The Batman: Part 3 – there he is! I will update if and when more information comes to light.

Willem Dafoe was recently interviewed by Vanity Fair and was shown certain scenes from his films including The Lighthouse. This is what Willem had this to say about filming The Lighthouse and not bonding with Robert Pattinson:

[I’m fond of my lobster scene]. This is from The Lighthouse a film I really enjoyed doing directed by the great Robert Eggers. It is Rob Pattinson and myself. We’re lighthouse keepers. I’m the old hand, he’s the new guy and I’m a little upset with him. One of the beauties of Robert Eggers is that he understands language, the language of this speech [What, what what what scene], is so beautiful, it has a rhythm, it has a sound, it has a music, it was a pleasure to do. [Let Neptune strike you dead Winslow]. The whole idea was that we weren’t bonding. Those are the characters, but it was so cold and so brutal that we’re always setting up for shots, and that there was no hanging out. Rob, I liked him a great deal and it was fun to work with him, but we didn’t know each other because we were always either getting warm or doing the scene, not that much hanging out and outside of the scenes, that was our relationship.
