Sunday, November 23, 2025 – Nominating Committee Voting Ends at 9 pm PT
Tuesday, November 25, 2025 – Astra Film Awards Nominations Revealed at 8 am PT
Wednesday, November 26, 2025 – Final Voting for Astra Film Awards Begins at 9 am PT
Sunday, November 30, 2025 – Final Voting for Astra Film Awards Closes at 9 pm PT
Tuesday, December 16, 2025 – 2025 Astra Film Awards
Nominations were announced this morning for the Critics Choice Association’s 5th Annual “Critics Choice Super Awards and Rob (Best Actor, Science Fiction/Fantasy Movie) and Mickey17 (Best Movie, Science Fiction/Fantasy Movie) picked up a nomination each, as did Naomi Ackie (for Best Actress, Science Fiction/Fantasy Movie).
The Critics Choice Super Awards, honor the most popular, fan-obsessed genres across both television and movies, including Superhero, Science Fiction/Fantasy, Horror, and Action. The Association is the largest critics organisation in the US and Canada and represents almost 600 media critics and entertainment journalists. It was established in 2019 with the formal merger of the Broadcast Film Critics Association and the Broadcast Television Journalists Association, recognising the intersection between film, television, and streaming content.
Voting commences on 14 July 2025 until 6pm on 21 July 2025. Winners will be revealed on CriticsChoice.com on Thursday, 7 August , 2025 at 9:00am PT (which I believe will be around 1am AEST).
Warner Bros announced on Friday that Mickey 17, its dark sci-fi comedy starring Robert Pattinson (The Batman), will make its global streaming debut on HBO Max on Friday, May 23. The film will debut on HBO linear at 7:40 p.m. ET. on Saturday, May 24.
