Robert Pattinson #TheLighthouse will be unlike anything audiences have ever seen

Fray Movie posted this shoutout to the cinematographer for The Lighthouse, Jarin Blaschke.  Apart from it turning up on Rob’s tag, what caught my eye was the comment “I’ve gotten to be part of a few lens tests and seen concepts for it.  This one is going to be unlike anything audiences have ever seen“.

If you haven’t seen Robert Eggers and Jarin Blaschke last collobaration “The Witch”, then you should check out this IndieWire article from back in 2016.  Robert Eggers and Jarin Blaschke spoke about how they created the look for the film. When you have a cinematographer stating:

I’d rather reconceive something, or see how we can distill something further, rather than do a watered down version of the thing we intended. … I’d rather maintain the core of what we are going for than do a sloppy version.”

you know you are going to be seeing something special.  I’m so intrigued by this film … lucky Rob fans are trained in being  patient (or so we think).

A big shout-out to FRAY cinematographer (and longtime friend) who, after shooting @thewitchmovie is currently in pre-production on a new one shooting next month with director Rob Eggers again and actors Willem Defoe and Robert Pattinson called The Lighthouse. I’ve gotten to be part of a few lens tests and seen concepts for it. This one is going to be unlike anything audiences have ever seen. #jarinblaschke #thevvitch #thelighthouse #robertpattinson #willemdafoe #roberteggers #artfilm #blackandwhite #surrealist #filmmaking #cinematographer #cinematography #longtimefriend #trueartist
