Weekly update on all career news for Robert Pattinson

Well thanks to Kevin McCarthy we know Robert’s definitely in Germany about to film High Life *happydance*. GOOD TIME: Now that the promo is over for Robert at least, the Safdies are still doing press and Q&As and thankfully keeping those BTS and set photos of Robert coming. Loving the mugshots of younger Connie.  No doubt due to the successful promo and press junket, the opening weekend in LA/NY was strong which is good news for all involved. The film opens wider next week in the US. Speaking of promo/press junket – The Knockturnal gave us some great comments from Robert and about Robert and we had some additional insights from the Safdies in their print interviews. As for release dates -Norway will now release in October; Sweden pushed theirs back by a week; Brazil will release on 19 October not 2018 as previously mentioned;and the Safdies confirmed UK will be getting the film in October as will Turkey and South Africa. Film Festivals – Cologne is using Connie Nikas as their key visual – so we will find out on 12 September when the film will screen. Bet they’re hoping Robert might attend since he is filming High Life. On the video front: The Academy uploaded a great interview – Academy Conversations which was recorded when Robert presented the film to them last week. There was a new Associated Press interview where Robert mentions people who see filming on the streets tend to have a “lookeyloo” and A24 gave us another clip from the scene where Connie and Nick are running from the police. As for podcasts – those who don’t want spoilers, you might want to miss BitchTalk, but for those who have seen the film Robert gives a little bit more information about one of the scenes with “Crystal”. I’ve also tweeted a few podcasts from the Safdie Bros not involving Robert for those interested. Although technically not a podcast, Kevin McCarthy interviewed Robert by phone last Friday and we didn’t have to wait long for it. The movie and more importantly Robert’s performance is still garnering great praise so you might want to check out the Review roundup which I have been adding to A LOT. I also added a few new pics of Robert from the LA press junket. THE LOST CITY OF Z:  Whilst looking for Good Time releases I found that the film is currently in Danish cinemas since 10 August. The DVD is being released on 24 August, so it’s great it had a theatrical release. South Korea finally has a September theatrical release too. QUEEN OF THE DESERT: The US waited long enough for the release of the film, now they’ve pushed back their DVD release from September to December. Guess I know what Robert fans will be getting for Christmas. DIOR:  Gave us a nice little surprise this week as part of their latest promo for Miss Dior. IN OTHER NEWS:  For those who love to listen to David Michôd he recently did a podcast where he discussed Australia and it’s film industry with Murmur Radio – he doesn’t talk about Robert but he does talk about The Rover. Justin Chang mentioned High Life in the LA Times interview with Robert where Robert mentioned he was filming “this Sunday”.  So as we know from Kevin McCarthy – Robert’s finally on set. Fear and Shame is now on Robert’s IMDb page. Also Bravo Pictures (Hong Kong) have released a subtitled Good Time trailer. OPN discussed making the Good Time soundtrack with Fader. COMING UP NEXT WEEK: The Lost City of Z is finally being released in cinemas in Australia; whilst Denmark and Sweden are releasing it on DVD.  Good Time can be seen at the upcoming Santiago Film Festival and also cinema release in the Czech Republic and Quebec.  Italy can still see The Childhood of a Leader in cinemas in Milan, Florence and Spoleto. I do love PromoRobert but I also love quieter weeks were we can appreciate the goodness we’ve had in the whirlwind that was the North American promo.  See you next week.

Oh my bloody God. Sooo much! This gives the cliche
‘No news is good news’a whole new meaning.
