I don’t talk much about those days. Never did. I don’t know why – I worked on circuses for nearly seven years & if that isn’t fodder for conversation I don’t know what is.

Actually I do know why: I never trusted myself. I was afraid I’d let it slip. I knew how important it was to keep her secret & keep it I did – for the rest of her life & then beyond.

In seventy years I never told a blessed soul.

My love for this film.  It was no surprise that it reached no. 1 in Australia in 2011 and let’s be honest – how could Marlena not fall for Jacob after being with that tyrant August.

    Falling for someone while he is Euthanasiaing a horse isn’t the standard romantic setup. Rob nailed that scene.
    And he looked bloody fantastic in those boots 😉
