“Filming for @rednosedayUS – I know who i would.”
I wondered if Rob would be involved in this when I saw it mentioned last week. Â I guess I have my answer!
“Red Nose Day is a campaign dedicated to raising money for children and young people living in poverty by simply having fun and making people laugh. The inaugural Red Nose Day will be held in the US on May 21st, 2015. People across the country will come together to have fun and raise funds and awareness. The day’s events will culminate in a three-hour entertainment TV special on NBC featuring the country’s favorite comedians, musicians and Hollywood stars—it’s a show not to be missed!”
You can learn more about Red Nose Day US here
The 3 hour show will be screened live on NBC on 21 May 2015. Â We will bring you a link if it’s available. Â Obviously we will also post the excerpt with Rob in it.
More info from NBC:
“A popular annual event in the U.K., Red Nose Day has raised more than $1 billion over the last 30 years. Now it comes to the United States for the first time with a fund-raising broadcast special on Thursday, May 21 (8-11 p.m. ET) on NBC. The star-studded event will feature sketch comedy, parodies, videos produced by Funny Or Die, live musical performances and short appeals films that shed light on those in need.
Nearly 20% of American children live in poverty according to the US Census Bureau, November 2012, and many children in countries outside of the USA live on less than $1.50 a day. Monies raised for Red Nose Day will benefit 12 charity organizations whose aim is to lift children and young people out of poverty, in the U.S. and throughout the world.

PS:Â Aussies this is different from our SIDS Red Nose Day that has been happening for as long as I can remember almost.
The Red Nose Day is a bit of a double up for us Aussies. I will always associate it with SIDS. However youth poverty is a cause that needs to be highlighted and backed 100% so they can call it whatever they like and I hope it raises the roof with donations. Any dollar spent in this area will be saved many times over during a child’s life.
It must be hard for celebrities to know what to put their name to with so many worthwhile causes. I do like Rob’s choices.
omg! This is wonderful news – I have always secretly hoped he’d be involved with the UK charity/event over the years but this will do LOL The UK events are always incredible and raise so much money for charities both here and Africa. Anyways, so happy to see Rob will be involved – wonderful news. Can’t wait to see him!! 🙂 thanks Maria
