10 Things We Didn’t Know About David Cronenberg (Except we really did know no. 10)

With the release of Maps to the Stars in the UK, The Telegraph lists 10 things we might be surprised to know about David Cronenberg. I actually don’t think any of us are surprised by this, but I was surprised by no. 1 ha! Click on the link to read the full list:
“10. He’s watched Twilight – but only for Robert Pattinson
In an interview with Salon, Cronenberg admitted to having watched the first Twilight film, and part of one of the sequels. But the director was suspiciously quick to defend himself from accusations of actually liking the vampire romance franchise, claiming that he was only watching the movies to research Robert Pattinson – whom he later cast in his film Cosmopolis.
In the case of “Twilight,†I was watching it for Rob, that was the thing,” the director said. “It’s not like – I mean, I hadn’t seen them before that”.”
Well now that’s a conversation starter if I ever bump into Cronenberg, I guess I can say you and I have something in common ….

I love that David C researches all his actors to get a good feel of their acting style etc. I would be very disappointed if the rumours were true that he won’t be making anymore movies.

Fascinating man. David Cronenberg is really interesting, too. Bwah ha ah! No, really, I enjoyed reading this and they were actually all new to me. *sigh* I can’t watch Twilight anymore because most of it (ie the bits without Rob) make me want to hurl. I hate that it’s spoilt for me. I blame…. circumstances. *shakes fist*
