“The Rover” showcasing Southern Flinders Ranges in Cannes
I bloody well hope so. They should get Rob & Guy to be tour guides. I’d definitely considering booking “The Rover Tour”. According to Transcontinental, Port Augusta:
“The southern Flinders Ranges will be hitting the world stage at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival.
An Australian film shot in the southern Flinders Ranges has been invited in official selection to premiere at the prestigious event, held from May 14-24 in Cannes, France.
Hollywood visited the outback in early 2013, when The Rover filmed scenes just north-east of Wilmington in the picturesque Flinders Ranges.
Cinematography of the stunning region will be circulated worldwide when the film opens, which Flinders Ranges mayor Peter Slattery suggested may promote visitation in the region.
…
“The Rover was one of the high profile movies filmed in the region,” he said.
…
The film boasts an impressive cast including Hollywood heartthrob Robert Pattinson from the Twilight franchise and Australian film star Guy Pearce, and was directed by David Michod (Animal Kingdom).
This is Michod’s first invitation to the prominent film festival.”
David’s first invitation but I’m betting not his last *twirls*

I know The Rover made me keen to take a tour of The Flinders Rangers back in Feb’13.
The stills have been stunning. It will be interesting to see if the movie focuses on the bleak or the beauty

Lucky South Aussies – you had Rob on your soil! A very worthy tourist spot, for many different reasons.
