Is this confirmation of a US release date?  Maybe it is, but why so cryptic and wouldn’t A24 films tweet that?  I remember The FilmStage did say it would have a limited release on 18 July 2014.  Nothing has been posted on The Rover Facebook as yet either.  Maybe that’s the date that promo will start … or maybe it is what it is.   If it is then I’m staying off Twitter for 2 weeks because David’s done a really great job of keeping the anticipation for this film high – I don’t want that anticipation spoilt for me like Bel Ami was with all the moment by moment tweeting.

UPDATE:  So according to The Wrap:

“A24 will pit “The Rover” against the Wachowski’s sci-fi epic “Jupiter Ascending,” Zach Braff’s Sundance movie “Wish I Was Here” and Disney’s “Planes” sequel on July 18, while the following week sees the opening of Brett Ratner’s “Hercules,” the Cameron Diaz comedy “Sex Tape” and Summit’s latest “Step Up” sequel.”

Guess that means I’ll be nowhere near Twitter come 19 July in Oz – I’m sure some will appreciate the silence from me.

    Am completely with you there Maria, Twitter will be a no go zone between that time of the US release & ours in Oz. It’s been such bliss the beautiful way the film has been handled by David, no way do we want any spoilers ruining that – not even ONE.

    I guess I’m justified in having avoided Twitter altogether. My eyes will be fixed on RPAU for the duration…
