“Stun me to my DNA, come on do it, click the switch.  Aim & fire” or something like that lol.   You would think I would know but I kind of get a little distracted with that scene *cough*.   So on the eve of the US release of Cosmopolis, I can tell you that after this weekend, it has slipped to no. 13 on the Aussie Top 20 with takings of $171,851 (check out full box office at Urban Cinefile).

According to Box Office Mojo – international box office is $5,084,886 (well according to my calculations, plus it’s clear it hasn’t been updated given the figures for Aussie box office).  So with correct Aussie box office it’s actually $5,158,891.

So curious to see how it’s received in the US.

I don’t understand Maria….why would you be distracted during that scene?? (asks innocently)
Thanks again for keeping us up to date. Unfortunately the theatre I went to has dropped to one session per day. The others around Melbourne still kept at at 3 and 4 sessions per day.
And yeah I’m also very curious to see how the US receives the movie. I don’t think I’ve seen any new reviews as yet.

LOL Maria, so true. Very hard to concentrate during that scene.

Thanks so much for the update. $171,851 is great considering how limited the release.

I too look forward to seeing the film’s US reaction. US peeps you are in for such a TREAT 😀 Am counting down to the DVD release!!!

Three cheers for France and the way they supported this film! I would love to see the US get behind Cosmopolis *fingers crossed*

Sorry I can’t help you out with that scene dialogue @Maria…. I promise to take note when I see it again mid-week ….how hard could it be, right?

mmmmmm That scene is soooo good.

Thanks for the update Maria. I say this film was a success from the moment I saw the smile on Rob’s face and the excitement in his voice when first talking about it

Thank you for these Maria…. I’m so curious as well since they kind of promoted it in a way America could really get it, the economic crisis and everything. The movie is a tought one for the Americans I guess, but I’m all hopes as well….

I agree Sue. Bravo to the French!! I’m also keeping my fingers crossed for Cosmopolis. American audiences prefer blockbuster type movies with special effects and lots of action unlike the French who love more cerebral and thought provoking films.
