I love that we use to get these gorgeous pictures of Rob on set, such a shame they stopped after New Moon. Just felt like reminiscing, plus I thought some may not have seen these beauties.
It is ashame Michelle. Thank you so much for bringing back the beauties. He looks so young, but always beautiful *sighs*.

I know Michelle I never understood why they didn’t do the backlot pics for the other films. What a shame. I know people think I loathe Twilight, but I don’t. I have fond memories of Rob as Edward in the beginning – it’s just all the craziness that followed since that gets my goat … I miss the old fandom days. True fact.

Me too Maria, me too. I miss the old days, they really were so much better. It was just so totally different. I remember being so excited about Rob having a new project & seeing him as Edward for the first time in Twilight- such fond memories of those days. Now it’s just pure insanity & the excitement is no longer there – overtaken by the extreme craziness & that I loathe.

Wow, I’ve never seen some of these before, they’re gorgeous. Absolutely LOVE the 9 of Rob in the USP coat ~ so young & carefree.
I feel like I’ve really missed out sometimes, when you say things like “I really miss the old fandom days”, Maria. As someone who jumped on the bandwagon late, I guess I can’t really imagine it NOT being a little crazy. ( Or do you mean BEFORE Twilight? Just curious. I know it’s never quite the same, when you’re not there from the beginning.)
Thanks for posting these, Michelle.

@Sue both, but especially the last few years – the fandom was fun at one stage – now it’s completely batshit crazy and nasty. I’m disgusted by a lot that I unfortunately have to see to be able to follow Rob’s career. I rarely venture onto Twitter – I won’t be bullied and I’ve got better things to focus on than their pathetic existence. They harp on about respecting Rob and I’ll be very honest – respect is the last thing I see from most in this fandom – they wouldn’t know what it meant if it fell and hit them on the head.
I’m sure I speak for all the RPAU girls – we are so glad we have followers on this site that not only knows the meaning but lives by it.

What beautiful shots! Thanks so much for sharing them, Michelle.
Like Sue, I discovered Rob just in the past 12 months or so, so I missed out on the early days that Maria speaks of. I don’t have time for ‘fans’ who are disrespectful either, and I guess that being older means that I’m not interested in all the teenage hype and nonsense that I see online. I do spend a lot of time on the social networks for my own business etc so I know just what Maria means. This is the ONLY RP site I visit though, because I know it is about supporting and respecting Rob, its a fun and loving environment – and I don’t have to sift through a whole heap of BS here.
Thanks RPAU team for all you do here. I just love spending time with you all – and Rob too of course 😉

So well said Maria, agree 100%. We are so very lucky to have such wonderful followers here at RPAU that treat Rob with the respect that he deserves. We speak it, believe it & live it. It is so rare these days & getting rarer by the day. The fandom is absolute shit these days & has been for quite some time. I long for the days when people truly respected Rob & treated him like a human being instead of an object they think they have some sort of claim on. I remember in the pre Twilight days when Rob did conventions like Collectormania. The fans use to come up to him & talk to him, never scream, they were respectful & Rob was actually able to have a proper civilized conversation with them & they with him. An enjoyable experience. No way in hell that could ever ever ever happen now. Such a terrible shame the crazies have ruined all that. The fandom is insane, disgusts me.

@Lisa RPAU is my happy place do not know what I would do if they ever decide to go! “shudders at the thought’ This is the coolest site on the net run by the coolest chicks on the planet and even though I have never met Michelle or Maria I consider them very dear friends
Michelle

Awww Cindy, you’re so sweet & the feeling is most definitely mutual *hugs* We know we always have your support & appreciate that so very much. Oh & please don’t worry, we’re not going anywhere 😀

Thanks @Cindy and everyone. We don’t say these things to get the kudos – we love running RPAU, but I have to admit there are times I just want to give up and walk away, but then I think of all of you and Rob and seriously he needs more fans like us than the ones who think they are the 1%. We truly are the 1% – the others are just kidding themselves. Sorry – I speak the truth.

Firstly thank you Michelle for the pics as I hadn’t seen these before and your choices are always divine – 😉 definite soft spot for Edward my introduction to a whole new world and wonderful site of RPAU.
In the scheme of things I was also a latecomer to the RPAU site but have always thoroughly enjoyed the posts, information and updates that you ladies provide and I don’t know how you keep them coming ( ie Cannes). Thank you from the bottom of my heart it is great to be able to share our thoughts( sometimes NC) with other people who appreciate Rob the person and his career, I am so looking forward his future projects. ps Maria please don’t run away unless you take your Lappy and crop tool with you. 🙂

This is my 4th attempt at a new comment ~ I keep starting over because it sounds so lame! I can’t imagine the last couple of years without Rob and RPAU (see, I’m making myself cringe!), but to find someplace that is so happy and positive and where everyone seems so genuinely supportive of Rob & one another …… it’s just really special. Like Cindy (and everyone else here), the thought of waking up one morning and not having RPAU to visit … well, I don’t want to think about it. At the same time, I can only imagine how much time & effort goes into a site like this ~ reminds me that we have to appreciate it while we’ve got it, so I don’t think we can ever say ‘thank you’ often enough to all involved.
And @Michelle, of course I had to google “Collectormania” didn’t I? And what do I discover? MORE clips that I’ve NEVER seen, from 2006/2007!!!! Such an adorable, sweet giggly Rob. I’m going off to search some more now, and leave you all in peace!

The reason RPAU is our second home is that M&M have created a place that truly is the only comfortable and safe place to follow Rob’s career. (Even if the NC is the largest room in the house). Now we have Vertigo; Lise-Lou; Suze & Jules all providing their own lovely spin on the wonder that is Rob. And you know we like all angles covered so having all these viewpoints just adds to the fun. How lucky are we! I thank you all every day.
@Sue & Lisa – I came into the fandom few months after Twilight was released, so I’m not an early adopter like Michelle and Maria but I must say I am still a little jealous of newbies like you two. The rush of being introduced to some of these old Rob classics for the first time is pretty heady stuff. They never lose their magic, but that first time blows your mind.

That’s what I’m talkin’ about! All you ladies out there and especially the wonderful girls who run and maintain this site is why I keep coming here. It’s all about Rob – no gossip, no slagging off, no screamy fan craziness – just him, his work and beautiful pictures – posed, not pap pix – which are part of his promotional work. I’ve done the rounds of all the sites out there in my quest for Rob pictures and info and just about all of them turn my stomach at the utter morons they attract (just read the comments!). RPAU is all class and the only Rob site I visit. God bless you all for your tireless devotion. You are soooo appreciated!

What everyone else said! I can’t add anything to this wonderful thread except just to please count me as yet another lucky beneficiary of the time & effort & love that the lovely RPAU ladies put into running/contributing to this site. It’s a truly wonderful place to visit, and I love reading and identifying with everyone’s comments, so thank you RPAU (and Sue, Carmel, Elane, Cindy, Trish, etc). I’ve not seen all these pics Michelle, but I’d say most of them are way better than the ‘official’ promotion shots. The bottom-left corner pic in particular, takes my breath away 🙂 Thanks Michelle.

Wow what a wonderful thread of comments. I am practically cheering out loud while reading! 🙂 I can’t add any more….Maria, very well said as always – I agree 100% with you, Michelle and the rest of the girls. RPAU is the most wonderful place, I’ll be forever grateful to have discovered such an amazing, respectful site. Even more grateful to be a small part of it. *group hug* you are all awesome 🙂

I know @Jules I know – these comments make it all even more worthwhile.
We’ve said it before and I’ll never tire of saying it – we love the followers we have. This is supposed to be fun – it’s not serious business. Don’t worry anyone I’m not really going anywhere especially with the thought that Rob is coming to Oz to make a film. No stalking required, but I know our industry loves him. He left such a wonderful impression on everyone last time he was in Sydney – and to think it was for less than 48 hours – I hope that at least some of us get the opportunity to see him again … somewhere.

As we’ve said many times before, if only all of Rob’s fans were as wonderful as everyone here is. We love you all & appreciate all your support. Sharing & celebrating Rob’s brilliant career with you all is such a pleasure, something that I treasure.
Rob coming back to Australia to film is so exciting. How fantastic it will be having him film in our very own country. He really did leave such a wonderful impression last time Maria, so true. Rob is pure class, impresses everyone everywhere he goes.
