@Larry411 tweeted this morning that @Hypable are stating that BD Pt 1 will be released on DVD in the US on 11 February 2012 in time for Valentines Day:

“Thanks to an entertainment distributor, today we’re learning more details about The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1′s DVD/Blu-ray release.

It will be hitting store shelves earlier than thought, and special Valentine’s Day-packaging is in the works.  Saturday, February 11th, 2012 is the release date for the United States. Word is that the official announcement will be coming January 3rd.

Although details and final artwork aren’t available at this time, Summit is also working on a version with Valentine’s Day packaging (since the release is just three days before the Holiday).”

Oh yeah because we didnt’ need further proof that Valenties Day was all about consumerism LOL.  Oh and Summit in case you need suggestions for final artwork – I provided one of the pics for the cover that I want to see .. just sayin.

Thanks Larry!

As Suze suggested … Jules should be employed to provide the cover art.  At least she knows how to photoshop and NOT remove Rob’s moles or crop his jaw *blasphemy*.

@Maria ~ maybe you could provide a few options for Summit to use as their final artwork? …… I think, I just think, you might be able to guide them in the right direction …… I’m sure Jules would offer to help out, too! If you need to, I’m also sure we could offer our opinions in advance …. (giggles)

Valentine’s Day about consumerism? Surely not. And I’m quite sure Summit is coming up with that date for purely romantic reasons …. hmmm, I can tell you I’ll have to buy that dvd for myself, becoz ‘you-know-who’ is more than a little sick and tired of a certain 25 yr olds name/face/voice/movies/ in HIS house!

LOL @Sue – yeah I can really see them all rushing out to buy it for their better halves.

I couldn’t resist the dig – because let’s face it – they aren’t about making money – after all as Wyck said – it’s going to take them almost a year to get all the CGI/special effects right in BD Pt 2. Hope they come up with something good because I wouldn’t want that comment to come back and bite him .. oh wait – that would be ironic hahahaha

Oh yes, I can see all the men lined up outside their local Target on Feb. 11 just waiting to get their hands on it. Not. LOL

If I may submit a suggestion for final cover art, I think Jules’ Edward Cullen.Legend. design would work nicely. 😉

I wanted to include it in the post @Suze but I can’t find it in our gallery … I will go hunting.

Oh ye of little faith, @Maria! (re your mate, Wyck) Too bad they haven’t yet realised that a lot more Eddie and a little less of everything else, would increase their sales 10-fold! And then they could save a fortune on CGI costs, which would surely keep them happy! When I think of the hundreds of hours of footage of Rob that we’ll never get to see …..God, I’d pay big $$$$ just to be able to glimpse some of that ….

Hahahaha @Sue – I know if they just released Fast Forward Edward on it’s own DVD ‘d be happy with that. I know the story – I don’t need to relive it, but Rob in any way shape or form – yeah I can watch over and over and over again. I have to admit I saw BD for the second time and I think I was just in an Edward induced coma first time round – the anticipation of seeing what Rob was going to do with Edward. Now I’m just waiting for Jump to Edward/Fast Forward Edward – don’t care what they want to call it as long as it’s only Edward. I found the second viewing made me notice a lot more than I did and it was not good 🙂

@ Sue, hundreds of hours of footage ……………….sighhh! Yes please. @ Maria, thanks for the info – can’t wait for the DVD. I have seen BD1 three times and it is a different experience each time,(especially with my husband – all good and yes he would go and buy me the DVD). Must say I find the wolves a bit over the top, however, they are like that in the story as is Jacob. Can never get enough of Rob in all of his scenes in BD and I particulary enjoyed the interaction between Edward and Bella. Roll on to the finale and what a feast for 2012, Bel Ami and Cosmopolis, these will have us glued to our seats or leaping in the air, haha..

Summit take note, this *points up* is the cover art we want to see. Not your crappy photoshopped efforts. Cropping out the mole grrrrrrrr I still cannot believe they did that!!! Bastards.

Bring on FF Edward – that is ALL we want to see 😀

    Thanks Larry & Maria!

Hahaha oh, Summit your dollar signs are more than showing now!!! Just give me Edward don’t worry about the rest, it’s really not a lot to ask.

OH BTW Wyck, you don’t need to CGI Edward so there, problem solved. Out with the wolves and in with more Edward, June release at the very latest I would think!!!

    God I love that back!

While we are on the subject of US BluRays – I finally got myself a player but can’t seem to unlock it like I could my old DVD player. Have any of you girls had success unlocking regions on BluRays?

    • December 5, 2011 at 8:00 pm

I recently got a Blu-ray player too Carmel & unfortunately, US Blu-rays won’t play on our players. The tech guys I spoke to said that a Blu-ray player cannot be unlocked – well not at this stage. One will come out no doubt in the future but at this stage, the only Blu-rays we can play are ones that are region B which is Australia, Africa, Europe, New Zealand, Oceania, Middle East, Netherlands, British overseas territories, French territories & Greenland. Yes I’ve researched it lol. At least we can play UK ones – I was very grateful for that.

@Michelle – That’s the information I got from my tech guys too I just thought you guys would take it to the extreme if there were any real possibilities or of players that were easier to unlock. I didn’t know we could get UK ones though. That is great news. Thanks for answering me.

lmao! I can’t believe you posted that wallpaper for this Maria – thanks. hahaha Yeah, it’s simple in my mind (and everyone else here) just use Rob for the promo dvd/bluray pics – leave everything IN don’t photoshop anything OUT. Thanking you kindly. 🙂
