I don’t know if it’s Rob that refuses to do this or that they are just plain stupid.  All the hype in the world won’t get me to buy this soundtrack – just like I didn’t buy New Moon nor Eclipse – in fact I don’t even recall any of the songs from the Eclipse soundtrack.  In all honesty I personally don’t think the music that they chose for those movies even comes close to the epicness that was the Twilight soundtrack.   Bruno Mars … really?  I smell desperation.

Anyway here’s the tracklist in case you are interested:

@Twilight

The soundtrack is released on 8 November 2011 – you can preorder at Amazon US, Amazon UK  and for Aussies at Sanity where they state it’s release date as 4 November 2011.

    Oh! Thats disappointing.
Wasn’t somebody hinting that the “more musically inclined caste members might share some of their talents”? (or something along those lines).

I’m going to decide that it was Rob’s decision not to tie his beautiful talent any further to the Twilight franchise, and say I support him fully (I’d get much too huffy with any other explanation, & its too early in the morning to start out in that mood!).

oh well – just have to make do with that back… and the tux… and the bicep

I completely agree Maria as you know. No Rob = ZERO interest. Yep, it’s a big zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz from me!

@Liz there is a track from one of the cast members Mia Maestro – whoever that is – I believe she plays one the Denali’s – um I thought apart from them being invited to the wedding they really shouldn’t make an appearance until BD Pt2. Oh and 2 hrs 15 mins? Really – what the hell are they going to fill that up with – clearly the cliffie is going to be Bella going into labour and Eddie probably plunging the syringe of his venom into her.

Well I have to say I’m disappointed. I have bought the previous soundtracks ( I agree with you Maria, the Twilight one is by far the standout) but there really isn’t anything that excites me here and if Bruno Mars is the big hook, then they missed the boat with me!!!

I can’t believe that Mia Maestro is the musically inclined cast member they chose *shakes head*.

Whitout a shadow of a doubt the first Twilight sound track was more appealing than the other 2. This is really disappointing. I think I heard somewhere that Rob was meant to play a lullaby for Renesme so maybe he is on the BD2 soundtrack…if this is true that is. I was actually looking forward to this soundtrack thinking that Rob would be involved in it.

@Silvie – yes Rob definitely does a lullaby and MUST be on the BD Pt 2 soundtrack. Let’s face it – they have to pull out the big guns to keep us THAT interested 12 months down the track 🙂

That’s what i thought guys. Since the mutant baby, sorry renesmee, isnt really in the first one it makes sense that the lullaby will be on BD2. I honestly dont think he’ll sing either, just record on the piano. I don’t like that at all! Fingers crossed though

What else really suck there isn’t any songs from Muse on the soundtrack either, i love that each Twilight film had a song by Muse in it but there could be a special edition sound track to come

@Beth I saw somewhere yesterday when the tracklist was leaked a special extended version – probably through iTunes as per usual. I don’t recall seeing any Muse on there.

I’m impressed that Julia and Angus Stone are featured on this soundtrack a major coup for them. Great to have some Aus music onboard – wonder if Rob knows their material.

*rolls eyes* I don’t even think I’ll be sifting through the bargain bin for this one, unless of course it somehow wins me over in the context of the movie, as did the first soundtrack. Then again Rob was on the Twilight one so it was a win from the get go.

I agree Michelle – it’s great exposure for an Aussie band, good for them.

Well, I do care about the Soundtracks and although I agree that Twilight was by far the standout, I really like the others as well.
This list howeve,r looks disappointing. Bruno Mars really doesn’t fit the previous musical flavour or vibe. I think Muse should be there to keep the continuity. But mostly I am very disappointed that they didn’t give us the hinted musical talents of a main cast member – ROB or at least Jackson.
On a good note A&J are awesome and I like that Iron and Wine get an encore.

I have really enjoyed the previous soundtracks, I have to admit – apart from anything else, when I listen to them I associate them with Rob which just fuels my daydreaming. LOL Anyhoo, I love that they introduced me to some unknown (to me) bands and artists. I have NO clue who any of these artists are so I’ll be waiting to see how it all sounds during the movie. Like everyone, seriously disappointing Rob isn’t performing on this. Seriously – such a waste!! The mind boggles!! o.O

    Thanks for the update!! 🙂
