David Cronenberg Thinks Rob is a “Terrific Actor”

No kidding David – we’ve been preaching that to the masses for years, but I guess now that a director of your calibre is on board it should be a little easier … right.   Ironic that there seems to be a lot of pie in this film *snorts*.    Anyway, according to CBCLive :

“Cronenberg didn’t cast Rob because of his tremendous Twilight Saga fame. In fact, he explained why it made shooting a little more difficult:

“Actually the fame was a detriment,” Cronenberg told us. “I mean, it’s good for financing – but it’s not necessarily good when you’re on the street and there are a lot of Twihards around. But I think people will be really surprised, I mean, I think he’s a terrific actor and that’s why I went after him.”

Bwahahahaha David did you really call them “Twihards” oh wait perhaps Francis sent you a warning email … but I suspect the set stalkers/self promoters will still choose to believe they aren’t actually talking about them.

    Ah David, so good to see you’ve finally caught up & realise what we have known for years now. ‘went after him’ I LOVE that! Rob is BRILLIANT, anyone who doesn’t see that clearly hasn’t got a brain in their heads.

    Hahahahahhha he called them Twihards – oh that is too funny. Ain’t that the truth Maria, funny how they only hear what they want to isn’t it.

    Rob as Eric – oh I absolutely CANNOT wait to meet you *happy dance at the thought* 😀

    I love that he went after him! Do you think that other directors would disregard Rob because of the trollers that follow him to his sets?? It would have to be very distracting. hmmmm Just a thought…..

    I agree re David going after Rob, just brilliant! Smart man, except when he accidentally allowed the floodgates to be wide open to the twihards. LOL

    Yes very distracting @Sare – his costars have mentioned it too, but it won’t stop them and really what makes them think I want to watch their lamearse taping of Rob’s scene. I’m proud to say I’ve never watched one of them since I’m not interested in their commentary nor do I want to waste time seeing what an amateur does with a handheld camera … hmm I bet they preach respect too

    David Cronenberg is a great old movies kind of director. Of course he went after Rob, because he can “see” true talent from miles away. It can take him a few seconds watching Rob’s brilliant performances, even in Twi, to know that ROB IS THE GREATEST CAMELEON OF HIS GENERATION and I don’t take no for an answer!
