42 ‘Brits To Watch’ announced by BAFTA – Rob NOT on the list.  I know – INSANE!!!

OK firstly at this stage this is only a RUMOUR.

Here’s an extract from the BAFTA Press Release about the event.  No names have been mentioned yet:

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) is delighted to announce its inaugural ‘BAFTA Brits to Watch’ event, to take place on Saturday 9 July at the Belasco Theater, Los Angeles.

BAFTA’s President, HRH The Duke of Cambridge, and HRH The Duchess of Cambridge will attend the event as part of their visit to California, helping highlight the incredible depth and range of great British talent currently emerging in film, television and video games.

‘BAFTA Brits to Watch in partnership with Audi’ will be supported by leading film, television and video game companies who will personally host tables at the black-tie evening event, and invite leading creative practitioners both in front of and behind the camera to join them. The ‘BAFTA Brits to Watch’, hand-picked emerging British talent, will join them at their tables for dinner to make what could be the most important introductions of their careers so far, as well as having the chance to meet Their Royal Highnesses. Examples of their work will be showcased throughout the evening and distributed to the attendees afterwards.

The forty two emerging Brits have been selected by an expert BAFTA panel based on a number of criteria. They will generally not be complete beginners in their industry, and will have already begun to show real promise. BAFTA will announce the names of those attending prior to the event.

The Daily Star is reporting this:

More than 40 of the country’s hottest talents will be their guests at the bash.

The Brits To Watch black tie charity evening is being hosted by Bafta, who have Prince William as patron.

Major movie studios like Fox, Warner Brothers, Universal and Disney have scrambled for tables at the event.

Ad the rush of interest from agents, distributors and executives has made the night at the Belasco Theatre in LA a sell-out.

The list of young talent invited is believed to include Emily Blunt, Max Irons, Lily Cole and Hayley Atwell.

Other more established UK movie actors like Twilight’s Robert Pattinson, Atonement star James McAvoy and Harry Potter leading lady Emma Watson are also set to attend.

The Daily Star is not exactly a reliable source (being a British Tabloid) but really how could Rob NOT be invited.  As soon as we hear any official news we will of course let you know. Cannot wait to hear!  To read both articles in full, just click on the hyperlinks.

Thanks to Gossipgyal for the tip.

OK so clearly they didn’t invite Rob to give others a chance. Well we already watch him I suppose.

Shame I really wanted a pic of Rob with Willie and Kate *giggles*.

Maybe Rob is too tall a poppy already. 🙁

I know I’ll be watching him with or without Willie by his side. But I was really looking forward to that meeting
