Bel-Ami Gets Release Date in The Netherlands?

You know there’s more mystery in relation to the release of Bel-Ami than in an Agatha Christie novel!   No seriously – it’s being released, it’s not being released, it’s going straight to DVD in some countries, it’s having a late 2011 release date … my head is spinning and I’m starting to be NOT VERY HAPPY JAN!  However, according to Independent Films, Bel-Ami is being released in The Netherlands on 29 September 2011.  Thanks to Roberta for sending us this.

So let’s recap on the supposed release dates according to IMDb:

Denmark – 8 September 2011

Norway – 16 September 2011′

France – 28 September 2011

USA – 19 October 2011

And according to the Australian distributors – it is being released in the second half of this year although a specific date is yet to be finalised.

Like I said … the plot thickens.

Correct me if im wrong, but i just cant imagine this movie getting released at the Readings/Event cinemas. We have a cinema at home (in NZ) called Rialto, and it plays arthouse/foreign films, is there something like that here?

@Caro – Event Cinemas are Hoyts/Village not that I don’t think they will screen them, but I suspect Bel-Ami might be released via Palace Cinemas/Dendy – they are the arthouse cinemas in Sydney.

I should also say that the cinemas have nothing to do with the release of this film – it’s up to the distributor and depends if the cinema chain wants to pick it up

So there is no point ringing and hassling your local place until a release date has been confirmed
