Ken Murray of Boston Movie Examiner Reviews WFE

I know I said I wouldn’t post a lot of reviews, but Ken Murray of Boston Movie Examiner (also known as @murraymaker) actually tweeted me his review and I enjoyed some of his comments:
“Robert Pattinson is known primarily by the teen and tween audience as Edward Cullen from the Twilight flicks. Most adults probably don’t know him from other things and this really is his first big film after his vampire role. Surprisingly he is quite good in Water for Elephants. He has an overall look that fits the Depression era quite well. Some actors like George Clooney have a style or look about them that make them seem timeless and be able to fit any time frame. Pattinson has a similar quality. The 1930’s clothing and feel fit him well and he could easily land another role in that time period. And the look on his face while he walks the rails back to the circus is quite moving.
Reese Witherspoon has had up and down roles since winning her Oscar. And even though this performance isn’t anything spectacular, her character was believable enough and her chemistry with Pattinson wasn’t too bad. Christoph Waltz is again amazing. The Austrian actor has been blowing people away ever since Inglorious Basterds and this film is yet another strong performance. August is strong, righteous, powerful and slightly off kilter and every bit Waltz.
There are a few plot holes or storylines that are probably covered better in the book that hurt the film a bit, but the movie itself isn’t too bad. It’s well made, feels authentic and looks how you expect Depression Era America to look. The elephant has more personality than past Pattinson co-stars and the scenic backgrounds as the train travels are quite impressive. A strong performance from Waltz and a surprising performance from Pattinson make a pretty enjoyable film. Adults should enjoy it, maybe it brings in some teens who want to see R-Pattz. Unfortunately it won’t open at #1 because it opens against Tyler Perry whose movies open at #1 every year.?

It is interesting the observation about the timeless charm and style of Rob. Yes, it is real. He is so charismatic like George Clooney and Harrison Ford, for example, and just like both of them, he is a very smart and talented actor.
There are many superb actors but only a few can be smart, talented, charismatic and heartthrobs at the same time. Rob can. His Jacob is a proof of this.

Wooohooooo! Oh Maria I personally am happy to see any reviews that have good things to say about Rob. This one was no disappointment in that department. Love it when the critic sees what we see *nods to Ken* Oh and this may have also made me chuckle out loud too!
