Reasons Why I Love Rob
Not that I need to list my reasons, because there are many, but today’s reason is … Rob didn’t allow himself to sit in the audience and endure the Oscar Twilight parody. Â I haven’t watched it – I won’t be watching it and I already know it was lame – was it going to be anything but. Â Oscars you really should be ashamed. Â As Rob might say …
you expect me to sit through what?

I really didn’t think they were serious .. I think I’m still in shock

alright Rob probably wouldn’t say any of that … he’s too polite. Â I of course won’t make you endure any of that tripe, because I respect all of you, so in case you had to “endure it” – here’s some pics to cleanse your mind and have happy Oscar thoughts – Michelle these are especially for you …
*sigh* much better.  You know I don’t work in your industry but I read that Anne Hathaway was supposed to introduce a black and white retro look at the first and early Oscars.  Not sure if it happened, but hey guess what would have be entertaining – having Rob as Edward reminiscing how he remembered the first Oscars – yeah not that hard to think of things that might have actually been worth Twilight fans watching instead of insulting their intelligence. But that’s just me.

Vicky
Didn’t see the parody and am not likely to go looking either but more than happy to enjoy the gorgeous pics Maria!!! The most beautiful eyes *sigh*.
BTW your idea of Rob as Edward, now that I would haved tuned in for!!!
Maria
LOL @Vicky I believe it was all of 3 secs of Rob or thereabouts. I’m not going looking for it either. I’m embarrassed for them – if they really cared about their ratings – they would have had Rob co-present with Reese. And as for Reese talking Rob on red carpet – sorry but poor Reese looks like she’s getting tired of the Twilight references to Rob and whether she’s Team Edward. You know that saying if you’ve got nothing good to say – well I think journalists need to adopt the – if you can’t research properly then just don’t.
Michelle
I LOVE these gorgeous pics Maria – thank you 😀 He truly is the most beautiful man in the whole world *sigh*
I was at home today for a couple of hours & unfortunately saw this parody *shakes head* I cannot believe they aired that – how embarrassing & if they thought it was funny – yeah sorry it ain’t. Your idea is SO much better Maria. I still cannot believe they thought THAT was a surprise *shakes head once more* So so glad Rob wasn’t there & didn’t have to sit through it.
Vicky
I have to agree about Reese Maria. I could feel the steam coming out of my ears during that interview. So unfair to Reese *shakeshead*. I would have loved to see Rob and Reese up there together. i really think the powers that be have absolutely no idea!!
caro
I was really dissapointed with this years show. Im not sure whether I liked Annes performance, the whole programme screamed a bit of “Royal variety performance for Americans” to me. Hmm
As for the parody. Dear God. I tried to mute it as fast as I could. Im so glad you didnt see it Maria.
I havent seen the Reese interview, is it circulating?
Maria
@caro yeah it is – but she doesn’t “talk” Rob – she is asked two questions – one refers to Rob as Twilight’s Rob Pattinson and the other says something like “I suppose you are now Team Edward”. No seriously that’s not talking Rob – that’s being pestered about Rob. Reese gets to give a brief synopsis of WFE, but then they direct it back to Twilight. Morons. I wonder if Rob stays away from these shows because he had a taste from the Globes that they just won’t let Edward go. Seriously Twilight for Rob is both a blessing and a curse.
Carlisa
I watched the Oscars during the day today and saw the little rap. Call me ignorant, but I didn’t ‘get it’. I didn’t get the context? Was there one? Maybe I wasn’t paying enough attention to the intro. Anyway, it came across as if they were stirring Taylor more so than Rob, not that I condone that either, but better him than our man!
And totally agree with you all about Reese and those stupid questions. The poor thing will have to endure the next couple of months with similar comments. I was cringing at the Team Edward reference. Aren’t we all a bit it over that already? I think there should be an ’embargo’ on Twilight questions and references during the W4E promo. Mind you, I am a Twimum, but enough, let’s focus on Jacob (Robowski) here, not Edward. We’ll get to him later in the year!!!
Carlisa
LOL @Maria just read the comment you posted while I was writing something similar….Here Here!!
Maria
Hahaha @carlisa we r on same wavelength and I didn’t even watch any of the oscars just saw a bit of Reese on YouTube 🙂
Cindy
Well thank goodness my dear friend Kareen warned me about that stupid parody. She said they made fun of your fav actor Cin and it wasnt funny at all “bloody stupid” were her exact words and I think she was being kind! Just another example of “pimping” Rob out. Sorry dont mean to sound like a whinging winny but I am over it! Thanks for the gorgous pics Maria they do make it better 🙂
Jules
First off – thanks so much for the cleansing photos of Rob there Maria. I am in shock at the uhm, what are we supposed to call THAT clip? Yup – I made the mistake of watching. o.O All that hype, just embarassing for them, so out of touch. IMO anyways. 😉 And I haven’t checked out Reese’s interview but I am feeling her pain already. The next interviewer who refers to Rob as “Twilight’s”, I’d like to smack them over the head with their own mic. Just saying.
Can I just say congrats to Firth and Bale though – here’s hoping Rob gets one soon!! <3
Martha M
Girls I missed most of the Oscars I was at a birthday party (I have to many God kids). Then I went to visit my mom. And the TV in the family room was on, and the Oscars were showing. And guess what part I walked in? Yes the stupid parody. It was 3 seconds long, but 3 seconds too long. I did’t even pay attention, I was busy talking to her and my brother. Maria you said it best Twilight has been a blessing and a curse. Thanks for posting these gorgeous pictures, all it forgotten after seeing these.
mema
Hi girls i,m in Jordan now its good to be at home ,and for the Oscar i don,t see it i was jet lag so what happened ? i dont think that Rob was there or his photo will be all over the sit .
Maria dear i love ur work and u know what we need. u r the Wizard of this sit thanks for ever think
Martha M
Hi Meme *waves* So glad you made it home safely. No Robert was not at the Oscars, the made a little skid on Twilight (like a joke) you didn’t miss anything. Glad to have you back :-).
mema
xoxo to u Martha dear and thank to God for his grace i will die if he was there but its a good year to Colin Firth and The King’s Speech
Martha M
Mema yes it was. Did you see the movie? It was great. If you haven’t seen it, try to, you won’t be dissapointed.
mema
no i don.t but i will i promise u as soon as i can
Maria
Oh yeah good point @Jules – congrats to Firth, Bale and Melissa Leo – they all deserved to win – poor Geoffrey Rush – he was a shoe in if Christian wasn’t so brilliant as Dicky.
Once you hit them over the head with the mic – I’ll wrap the cord around their necks because they clearly do NOT deserve to even call themselves journos or whatever they are. Not sure what the rest of the world is saying, but here in Oz they are claiming that it was the worst Oscars ever. So again, thank you Rob for not attending and making all of us sit through what undoubtedly was the adult version of the People’s Choice Award. Yeah now that I think about it – no wonder he didn’t go. Ridicule is not entertainment peoples.
Martha M
Mema good. It was an excellent film. Colin Firth really did deserve the Oscar. I’m glad he won.
Maria
@mema glad you are back home safe – Rob made a wise move to not be at the Oscars this year – and I love him a little more because of that 😀
Martha M
@Maria after you put the cord around their necks I’ll roll them in the red carpet and dispose.
Maria
LMAO @Martha M – that made me laugh out loud.
Cindy
Onya @Martha! What a great idea! Just as well that carpet is long cause there is a few of them that need wrapping in it and disposing of! 🙁
Martha M
@Maria laughter is good. I hope no one turned to see. I’m used to everyone turning to see me. I’m always the distraction.
mema
thanks Maria and girls i have to go to sleep i have work tomorrow talk to u later have a great day
Martha M
@Cindy yes Hon, I think the red carpet is more then long enough to take of everyone that needs taking care of.
ephie
Hi all, hope I am not too late to add my comments here. This was MOST DEFINITELY the most boring Oscars in history!!!! The hosts were very flat and not entertaining at all. And as for the parody I cringed through it, and thought the HP part of it was really really bad. The best thing about that monstrosity was Rob’s melodic voice, it outdid them all. Yeah food on ya Rob for not attending and congrats to all involved with King’s Speech it truly was a worthy winner.
Jules
lmao! That’s quite the production line we’ve got going….smacking them with the mic, wrap the cords around them, hiding them in the red carpet. Possibly before getting rid, we just sit on them/it and say “Twilight THIS” 🙂 It’s best to let your anger out isn’t it?? 😉
@ Maria – Totally agree, just too embarassing and so glad now that Rob wasn’t there to witness any of it or be asked if he’s Team Edward o.O
Not heard much about what people thought of the Oscars in the UK, think we’re just generally thrilled the Brits did well!! LOL
Maria
OMG hahaha @Jules – and everyone involved in ransacking the Oscars – I swear that would have been FAR more entertaining than what they dished up. Well @Vertigo and I lived up to our threat that we would revenge Rob’s beating by Dan Cudmore so um yeah – hmmm maybe a trip to LA is in order for all of us.
The only thing I read which was before the Oscars was even telecast was someone saying – if only the Oscars were as classy as the BAFTAs – I second that.
Maria
@ephie never too late to voice your opinion. Michelle told me the HP was bad – really really bad. You have to wonder how these people who work in the entertainment industry actually think that was going to be entertaining? Like I said – I haven’t seen it and I intend to keep it that way – my brain still needs bleaching from the People’s Choice – and I will say this til the cows come home – that is enough punishment for one year because I will never get those hours of my life back.
ephie
Hi Jules, yes congrats to you Brits! Well deserved.
LMAO also at your production line there ladies…very creative indeed. If only we could actually act on it hey??
Jules
@Maria LOL! And what did you and Vertigo do or threaten to do? I’m curious. 🙂 And hell yeah – not just revenge for the Oscars, if anything ruins this WFE week I will not be responsible for my own actions. 😛
That’s nice that peeps though the BAFTAs were classy – I heard biased to The King’s Speech. 😛 But still, in a classy way. *thumbs up* 😉 In my dreams Rob will one day work with Colin Firth and if you throw in Christian Bale too I’ll probably not stop smiling, ever. ha ha
Oh Rob, there’s an Oscar out there with your name on it in the future (fingers crossed). *happy sigh*
Jules
Ooops, hi Ephie. I missed your comment when I posted. *waves* Sorry you didn’t enjoy the Oscars either. 🙁 I’m not surprised though! 😉
Maria
OMG @Jules – hahaha Vertigo and I kept saying that we were going to break Dan’s fingers because he hurt our Rob if we ever got the chance to exact revenge on Felix. Anyhoo Dan ended up coming to Sydney for a Twilight Convention last April and so Vertigo and I decided we’d take our chances – here’s the result – https://www.robertpattinsonau.com/2010/04/24/exacting-revenge-on-behalf-of-rob/.
Agree there’s an Oscar for Rob – only a matter of time. Oh and now I’m kinda excited to see Rob with Mr Darcy and Dickie *gigglesuncontrollably*
Jules
@Maria Thanks! omg, that’s brilliant….I can’t believe you girls managed that. Shame he didn’t do exactly what you asked. o.O LOL Thank you. <3
And yes, *starts the slow hand clapping* Bale/Firth/Pattinson together in one movie #ItMustHappen 🙂
Night all, it's late here. *hugs*
Maria
Joins in chant.
Nite @Jules sweet dreams.
ephie
LOL @maria I meant not too late as in this thread being dead and finished…
I do feel sorry for you for your wasted time over the PC Awards – such tripe – I have never ever watched that show and never will. And after this year I do not think I will watch the oscars again either. I used to like watching them in years gone by…
Maria
I know @ephie I loved watching them too – the glitz the glamour – but unfortunately that is all gone. It’s a sad sad indictment of our society I think that true entertainers are hard to find – hence why Rob has attracted all of us – he is classic Hollywood from the good old days where the talent could act, sing and dance (well maybe not dance – hahaha) but he is a talent that is for sure that we haven’t seen for quite some time.
So um not that I like to talk trash but Franco – how the hell are you going to play Buckley if your song and dance was cut from the awards because your singing was so bad? Oh I know – if Rob really wanted the role – Rob would have it. Just sayin …
ephie
Too true @maria those were the days when there were real stars…and yeah Rob is definitely a breath of fresh air. I don’t know about the dancing though…he has hidden talents I am sure…haha
So is Franco confirmed to play Buckley? I did not realise. How interestng that his song and dance act was cut…
Maria
LOL @ephie – well he did do ballet …
As for Franco – don’t think it’s confirmed I was just being narky 😀
ephie
Yes he did say he did ballet…so who knows he could be an acomplished dancer AS WELL!!!!
You have very right to be narky – I thought Franco was very bland last night, no spark although I am sure he is a very good actor. But not everyone can have Rob’s charisma can they? He just lights up the stage or the room and that is a rare gift.
Maria
Absolutely @ephie he is very debonair – I always think that when I see him at awards ceremonies. Oh God I gush about him so much – he is Mr Perfect when it comes to his profession. There is something affable about the Brits – I don’t just think it’s our upbringing in Australia that makes me favour them – I just find some of the American actors crass and – how did Rob’s dad say it – classless – not all, just some of the newer generation. They spend so much of their time patting themselves on the back – not really a trait I favour. I always think – if you are good I’ll notice it – if you feel the need to tell me how great you are – well then clearly I won’t see it on my own.
And on that note jury is still out for me about Franco … not that I’m saying he falls into above category – he might – just haven’t bothered to notice him very much …
ephie
Yep I totally understand where you are coming from @maria. The Brits seem to have that “je ne sais quois”, some different quality about them which sets them apart from the Americans.
It could be because they are European? Don’t know…And of course Rob is in another class above that too, with his intelligence, wit, modesty and talent. Oh don’t worry I gush about him a lot too – can’t be helped lol!
