I can’t thank Lise-Lou enough for recommending The Book Depository to me last year.  I rarely buy books from anywhere else now and early this morning there’s an email to me from Lise-Lou telling me this:

and no you aren’t seeing things re the price – that’s how much it costs and they seriously do ship for free.  If you want to pre-order (or check whether they ship free to your country), because you would be insane not to buy it at this price, then click on the link above.  I know I’ve placed my order and I believe Lise-Lou and Michelle might be buying a few copies lol.

Like Maria, I very rarely buy my books anywhere else. Best books at the best price. Thanks so much Lise-Lou & Maria – cannot wait to receive my copies!

If only I had a credit card..

    Maria

    • January 25, 2011 at 8:44 am

@caro do you not use PayPal? It’s better than a credit card because you can link it to your bank account and it’s just as secure if not more so.

@Caro no you don’t want a credit card, then you would be in the mess I am owing everyone so much money.

@Maria I posted a comment last night but it never come up. I wanted to thank you for recommending “Social Network” I loved it. And Andrew Garfield what a cutie, I mean no comparison to Robert, but then again no one compares to him. He was so good in the movie. He’s a really good actor. Thanks again Maria.

Done! Just ordered it, thanks for the tip girls. I don’t usually like to buy books with movie tie in covers, I prefer the originals, but this one is just too beautiful to resist.

That’s weird @Martha M because there is nothing in spam from you. Am glad you liked it – I personally loved Justin Timberlake as Sean Parker too – smooth very smooth. I thought it was funny that Andrew plays Eduardo lol. Am hopefully seeing The Fighter tonite so will let you know if it’s any good.

Thanks Maria please do let me know. Everything I’ve read about it is nothing but good reviews. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. But I’ll be waiting for your review and then I’ll decide whether I’ll go see it or not. I love having you as my movie recommender. Thank you.

Oh and speaking of movies, Martha and Maria, have you seen Burlesque?

    Martha M

    • January 25, 2011 at 9:39 am

No Caro, have you seen it? And if so what did you think?

    Maria

    • January 25, 2011 at 9:47 am

@caro I can’t bring myself to go and watch musicals – only Rob would make me turn up to one. I attempted to watch DreamGirls once when I was on a flight to Hong Kong – I switched it off after 20 mins – I just couldn’t bear it. Another reason why I’m more than a little nervous about BD

    • January 25, 2011 at 9:52 am

No i havent seen it, but the gay man upstairs keeps raving about it.

    Martha M

    • January 25, 2011 at 10:34 am

Well my gay friends loved it too. But that’s Because Cher is a fag hag (no offense to her). That’s what we call someone that has a gay following here, maybe you girls call it the same too. And that she does. Maria I hated Dream Girls, at least you were able to turn it off or not hear it, or take a nap. I saw the play, it was torture, but I also saw Mary Poppins the play and I loved it. So I guess it just depends on the story. Caro if I decide to see it, I’ll let you know whether you should go see it or not. Maria please do let us know what you thought of the “Fighter.

    Maria

    • January 25, 2011 at 4:26 pm

LOL @Caro – I just got my copy in the post today so I will start to read it tonite and let you know – I suspect it won’t all be HEA

have you not read the script either?

    Maria

    • January 25, 2011 at 4:40 pm

@caro I don’t know anyone that has been able to access that script. It would be like Fort Knox – unless Jackson Rathbone is involved and throws it away in a bin.

Awwww. Annoying. BTW, does RPAU have a facebook page?

    Maria

    • January 25, 2011 at 4:49 pm

@Caro no we just have the site and twitter – originally there was a myspace page but I’m going to be honest – the site is more than enough I’ve never understood why everyone has to have tumblr, facebook, etc.

@Caro if you’re talking about WFE, the ending is wonderful. The whole story is amazing. I loved the book. It’s about life. I don’t think I could describe it any other way.

    Maria

    • January 25, 2011 at 5:15 pm

@Martha M – lol I had Cosmopolis on the brain – now @Caro which one are you talking about?

    Maria

    • January 25, 2011 at 5:16 pm

@caro – ok I’ve realised you meant WFE – yes to both have read the script and the book and I think you will like the ending.

    Martha M

    • January 25, 2011 at 5:47 pm

I was wondering @Maria, I thought there’s no way in hell and on this earth she hasn’t read the book. Hmm….Eric Parker huh?

    Martha M

    • January 25, 2011 at 5:48 pm

    Ooops meant to say PACKER.

    caro

    • January 25, 2011 at 6:50 pm

Eric Packer…Nothing to do with Kerry Packer is it Maria? Like the magaziny family in Australia..

    • January 25, 2011 at 9:14 pm

@caro you will love W4E (the book)!! We already know we’ll all love the movie for obvious reasons. @Maria I’m jealous. When did you read Cosmopolis? Before or after Rob’s involvement. If it was after, gee you’re fast LOL!! I’m still waiting for my copy to arrive after the 4th of March or sometime around then.

    Maria

    • January 25, 2011 at 10:05 pm

LOL @Carlisa – no I haven’t read Cosmopolis yet am about to start reading it. I had read Underworld which is another DeLillo novel, but it was a long long time ago LOL. I bought mine from Book Depository as soon as Rob was mentioned in the role – they shipped it on 10 Jan and here it is today 😀

    Maria

    • January 25, 2011 at 10:07 pm

LOL no @Caro Eric Parker is Rob’s character in Cosmopolis. Did I type Packer again – I thought that was @Martha M who did that.

@Martha M I just came home from seeing The Fighter – what can I say – the films that are nominated for this years Globes and undoubtedly Oscars are probably some of the best films to come out of Hollywood in a very long time. Mark Wahlberg is good as Micky Ward, but Christian Bale as Dicky Eklund deserves an Oscar – I’d go as far as seeing even more so than Colin Firth. I thoroughly enjoyed this film, but I have to warn if you are not a fan of boxing (and I personally find it a brutal sport) then this film might make you a little squeamish. I was so engrossed in the story that I was in my own little bubble and forgot about everyone else in the cinema. I wasn’t sure what I was expecting from this film, but I can assure you I was pleasantly surprised.

Oh and Marky Mark – woah amazing physique. Christian Bale has Dicky Eklund down to a tee – you will see what I mean at the end credits. The film in my opinion is brilliant, but it might not be everyone’s cup of tea. If you enjoyed De Niro in Raging Bull – you will love this film.

So I may have bought a few spares at this price how could I not! You might not thank me girls when you end up spending all your money at this online store as I do LOL You should see the piles of books I have waiting to read. Just started my Cosmopolis today as well.

@Carlisa I am with you I don’t usually like the movie tie in covers but who can resist Rob and you definately need more than one so you can still gaze at the cover whilst reading without having to close it 😉

    • January 25, 2011 at 11:38 pm

@Maria well i might have to start ordering from book Depository all the time, because I did exactly the same thing. Ordered Cosmopolis from Fishpond right after I found out Rob was involved, then got an email a couple days later saying it wasn’t in stock (the buggers), and had to wait till March.
@lise-lou, I’m already addicted to online bookstores, it’s just too easy, now I’ll have to add another one to the list. All I need now is more hours in the day (usually night) to read all the books I keep buying.
