Water For Elephants

Unfortunately this is not in Australia – I know *MAJOR sad face*  If you are lucky enough to be in the Washington area  (yep never wanted to live there more in my life) you & a guest have the chance to attend a special screening of Water For Elephants on Thursday 27 January at Lincoln Square Cinemas 16, Bellevue, Washington, however all in attendance must be aged between 21-49 years.  You can see all the info & instructions right here. Lucky lucky people getting a sneak peak at Jacob next Thursday – how EXCITING!!  So so jealous. Thought we would post & let everyone know in case any of our followers are able to attend this wonderful screening.  If you are – enjoy!!

caro
Quick Martha, get to Washington!
cat
sigh. why am i always on the wrong side of the world. when rob was in germany, i was in america. at the eclipse premiere i was in germany, now for the screening i’m in australia. WHY????? oh, the frustration….
tessANZ
OH, THUNDERING TARNATIONS!!
MISSING WATER FOR ELEPHANTS!!
yeah, totally jealous and yet happy for the lucky people who get to go! and what is it about the upper age limit?
sad face here in NZ as well…
Michelle
I’d say they’re after a specific age group’s opinion tessANZ. To see what their reaction is to the film seeing as it is a test screening. They want a more mature opinion than they’d get from people under 21 – understandably so. Lucky lucky people *cries*
Vertigo
Please tell me someone from here is going!! Please?
Vicky
I knew i should have got a passport, *wipes tears*.
Maria
Sorry for silence you know it’s hard to find cheap tickets and accommodation at such short notice …
crap that was my dream wasn’t it … I knew I shouldn’t have had a nap this afternoon.
If only …
Maria
@Vertigo at least with fit the age criteria 😀
Martha M
Oh @Maria your fave pic of the day. It’s my fave pic of the “little Ashes” era. I adore the way he look in that pic. Thank you for choosing that one. Wow today has been GREAT!!!
Michelle
I absolutely ADORE it too Martha M – such a gorgeous pic. When deciding which pic to choose for today I just couldn’t go past that one. Hmmm I think maybe a Uniqlo post is in order 😀
Martha M
Sorry @Michelle I never know who post those pictures. So I thank you profoundly. I posted a comment but it hasn’t shown yet. I’m so excited I had to share that excitement with you girls. I hope it shows up soon.
ephie
How great is this? I like the age group they have chosen although I think they could have gone a bit older too. I do hope we get to hear what the (very very lucky) audience’s reaction is.
Michelle
LOL, no worries Martha M. Glad you loved the pic – the Uniqlo pics are some of my ultimate faves. Just adore them. I think WP must have eaten your other comment *shakes fist* it’s not showing up anywhere 🙁
Martha M
Well, I’ll try one more time. I went to go see “No Strings Attached”, and OMG!!! OMG!!! OMG!!! Guess what trailer they showed??? Yes! The WFE trailer. And all I have to say is the computer does it no justice. I couldn’t contain myself I started screaming, clapping, & crying everyone in the theater just turned and saw me and thought I was crazy, and yes I was at that moment. I’m telling you girls it was amazing. We all know this movie is going to be great, but seeing it in the cinema is…. I have no words to describe the excitement. It was unbelievable. This movie will be the cause of my death. I will die of a heart attack. I couldn’t wait to get home to tell you girls, the only ones that would understand. Oh and caro I just put in my request for that screening, I will get to Washington no matter what it takes. I’ll just have to wait and see if I’m one of the lucky ones.
Martha M
@Maria, I also saw the “The Kings Speech”, I loved it. It was so good. Thank you Maria for telling me to go see it. Tomorrow “Social Network” and maybe “No Strings Attached” again just to see the WFE trailer. It’s so worth it & actually the movie was really cute, but then again I love chick flick movies. I really did enjoy it.
Michelle
Wooo hoo, that is SO exciting Martha M 😀 I absolutely CANNOT wait to see Rob as Jacob on the big screen. *does happy dance at the thought* Seeing Rob’s film trailers on the big screen & especially for the first time is beyond words exciting – oh I just LOVE it. Fingers crossed for Washington. SO excited for you if you get chosen 😀
Martha M
Thank you @Michelle, If I’m that lucky to be chosen, I can only thank you girls for always letting us know everything about Rob. I would have never known otherwise. Michelle I’m so glad you understand. I mean I really was being ridiculous, the way I screamed and started clapping, my brother was with me, he already knows how crazy I am so he just laughed. I don’t think I embarrassed him. Nah, he would have told me. It really was so exciting, and them logging on and seeing that fave pic of the day. Wow! What an awesome day it has been for me.
Maria
@ephie I too hope we hear a reaction, but no spoilers – I mean if they start telling us all about scenes I’m going to go ballistic because we’ve always made sure when we’ve seen the movies before the US that we don’t spoil it. There’s nothing like sitting in a cinema waiting for one of Rob’s films to start and the unknown. I say this because – when we were posting all the Remember Me set pics that were coming out every day, I had a completely different impression of what the film was going to be like. I was just amazed and over awed by Rob’s performance and the film once I saw it.
Maria
@Martha M I don’t recommend a lot of films – I tend to be disappointed by most that come out of Hollywood, but the hype that surrounds “The King’s Speech” is well deserved and as an Aussie I loved Geoffrey Rush’s character and performance. Your story about seeing the WFE made me laugh – I can imagine your excitment. I have my fingers crossed that you get to Washington – that would be amazing and you definitely deserve to go – plus we want to hear your reaction, but like I said to @ephie below no spoilers lol.
Martha M
I promise @Maria I won’t spoil if for you girls. Thank you for keeping your fingers crossed, but I’m never that lucky. Well I was lucky enough to find you girls, so hmm…. maybe? I don’t think so, but if it happens you’ll be the first ones to know. And yes Maria you are right all the hoopla for the movie is well deserved. And Geoffrey Rush’s performance was amazing. I’ll let you know about “Social Network” tomorrow. But you did say “The Kings Speech” was worth seeing, and it certainly was. I’m sure I’ll enjoy “Social Network” just as much.
cat
Yeah, no spoilers please. The only thing that makes me sweat is this question:
From the most objective point of view possible, did Rob step up his acting, and is it going to please a wider audience?
That is the only thing I care about, since all eyes are on him and critics waiting with knives between their teeth…
ephie
Yeah me too @maria, I do not like spoilers at all. It takes away from the magic of the movie…I was so so mad at Matt Lauer of USA Today when he gave away a major plot point of RM (the ending in effect), I nearly broke my laptop screen!!! I was livid and called him every name I could think of for being so incosiderate. It completely ruined it for me so I am definitely with you on that one. I like to be surprised when I see the movie for the first time.
ephie
I am very excited for you Martha M on both counts. Seeing those spectacular images of W4E on the big screen must have been beyond awesome so I totally understand your reaction.
I hope you get to the preview, I really do – it will be an unforgettable experience for you. Fingers crossed for you sister!!!
Vicky
How exciting for you Martha, i’m so jealous. I can’t wait for that first glimpse of Jacob on the big screen!!!! Good luck for the screening I really hope you get selected, *fingers and toes crossed*!!
Maria
@ephie – did he I can’t remember that – I had read the original script so there was no surprises for me, but I had made that choice, but people tweeting and spoiling that is annoying. I remember reading someone’s point by point review about RM that they had seen at a special screening and said that Rob had too many of his own mannerisms in the film. I hardly think he can change the way he licks his lips (we don’t want him to anyway) or quirks his eyebrows. I personally didn’t find any of his mannerisms distracting 😀
Martha M
Thank you all for keeping your fingers crossed for me. I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart. And yes the experience of seeing the trailer for the first time was amazing. I have no words to describe the excitement I felt. I can’t wait for all of you to see it, so you can all share what I felt when I saw it. It’s something you can’t describe with words, it’s more of a feeling. Good night girls it’s 3am, and I have to get for mass. Have a great one.
Michelle
Night Martha M – will be keeping my fingers VERY tightly crossed 😀
ephie
Yes he did @maria when he interviewed Rob during the promo. As for Rob’s mannerisms, I did not see that many in RM that reminded me of Twilight and believe me I was being very objective while watching RM because I don’t want my adoration for Rob to cloud my judgement as far as his acting is concerned. Every time I watch it I am flabbergasted by his performance as it is so real, so perfect. And I love it when director Allen Coulter in the commentary praises Rob’s performance in some particular scene…So I totally agree with you in regards to mannerisms, nothing distracting there at all.

*turns green with envy*

I live near Bellevue, but DAMN, I’m too old!!! That BLOWS!!!!!!!
Michelle
Oh L that is so unfair 🙁
