Are you serious?  The M&M’s are not fit for public speaking right now, which is why I’ve abandoned my finals to bring you this official news.  Even though we all knew it was coming, we’re still a little stunned to see it in print.  Here’s what Summit had to say.

Los Angeles, CA, June 10, 2010 – Summit Entertainment confirmed today that THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN will be released as two separate films with the first of the two slated to be released in theatres on November 18, 2011. Academy Award® winner Bill Condon will direct both films.  (ETA) The project, based on the fourth novel in author Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series, is currently being written by Melissa Rosenberg with Wyck Godfrey, Karen Rosenfelt and Stephenie Meyer producing. The TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN will start production in the Fall.

Once upon a long time ago (when the world made sense) this news would have thrilled me, so I can almost understand how some of you must feel.  Now?  Well looks like we are going to be riding this thing until 2012.  With Rosenberg!  Apparently Condon is looking forward to the C-section – ok and goodluck with that.

p.s. They better bloody hurry up and finish this thing because I’m pretty sure Rob is already looking wiser than his 24 years right?

Vertigo – I’ve been sitting here waiting for the post to come up since you told me – and really although yes we knew it was coming – I’m still dumbstruck that they are stretching this money machine out until 2012. Christ is all I can say – seriously I want Rob finished with this saga NOW. Hang on will compose myself and come back.

    Maria … two words …

Jacob and Georges (yes I know there are more characters but it would lose the Les Grosman I’m going for)

and TBO, shouldn’t he be looking forward to things like badass cops 1,2,3 and 4?

@Vertigo – I think my current mood pic says it all.

LOL @Maria – its the perfect way to express yourself today.

BTW – I think BadAssCops 1-4 is something we definitely need! Ah yes Georges and Jacob and whatever other lovely Rob has in store for us. I forgot – all now seems right in the world when you put it in THAT perspective!

As for Rosenberg – as Grossman would say ‘someone better find her the name of a plumber” because I predict that c-section is going to be freakin horrendous – that is – if she decides to even leave it in. Just sayin …

Ok – so since I always want to look on the bright side of things, I’ve decided the only good that may come of this is that, some time between the middle of next year and 2012, we MAY get Rob to visit us in Oz to promote the film. It’s a big “IF” but hey something has to take me back to the bliss of this morning.

I knew you’d find the positive Maria. 🙂 Rob downunder, now that’s something to make it all worth while …sigh …

They better film these back to back. Rob is looking his age… as he should

Surely they can have the first one finished before November 2011? After all the filming of his movies and then promotion, he sure is going to look older than 24 let alone 17. He’s already doing back to back everything. Yes, he needs a nice, long break in Oz. Wonder if he needs billeting….! I cannot believe how much Rob we are going to get next year both IN movies and promotion. I just hope he is able to have a decent break somewhere.

LOL @robbie re the billeting – yes well puts hand up as well. Hahaha. I haven’t read the full BD bit since I am in denial. But I think from memory and I will check IMBDPro that they are filming BD back to back starting October this year – I think they are just dragging out the release of the films, but I could be wrong. You know they want to milk Rob for as much as they can since I doubt (or really hope from his reaction to Pierce Brosnan) that he won’t sign on for any more that they might intend to create post BD. Poor Rob – I wonder if he really would have signed on for all of this had THAT book been finished before he’d already taped Twilight – what a nasty nasty surprise for him.

Oh and we must not forget Phineas! I would say it in Comanche but I don’t want to spoil it for all of you – playa playa!

I have now had the chance for this news to set in & have gotten over my initial shock & have calmed down..well have calmed a bit anyway LOL. Oh god I was hoping the talk of the 2 *shudder* films wasn’t true. I mean we all knew it was pretty much a sure thing to happen but as I always do with everything, I still held that slight glimmer of hope. The day Rob is finished with the saga & is free to move on to continue his brilliant work will be one of HUGE celebrations. We all know he is much much more than Edward & I do look forward to the day when these slow people catch up & realise this too & give him the credit he so deserves as an actor.

Ah Vertigo, those 2 words Georges & Jacob have such a soothing effect on me & of course all the other lovelies Rob has in store for us. They will keep us sane amongst all the madness no doubt about it. Ah, everything makes sense once again when thinking about these upcoming delights. Maria I LOVE the bright side of Rob possibly visiting us as part of the saga promo. Bad Ass Cops 1-4 – haha this is just essential.

Bill, Bill, Bill – have you actually READ the c-section in the book. LOL – yes I wish you all the luck with that particular event, truly I do. I too wonder Maria if Rob would have signed on for all books had he known about BD beforehand. Poor Rob. It is going to be very interesting to see how they are going to bring this book to the screen. I too hope Rob gets the chance to have a break somwhere in between Robbie. He has been working SO hard these past 2+ years. If anyone deserves a break it is Rob.

LOL will stop rambling now but you all knew I would have a LOT to say on this subject haha. Oh & of course goes without saying that I will be going along to the cinema to see both BD films cause this is Rob we are talking about & I support him 100% no matter what he does – always

    Oh PS. – Phineas 😀

    NoooooooooOOOoooOOOoooo (x infinity :P)
Copying Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows much…?!
These are gonna be the weirdest movies ever… At least it means more Rob roles but if they clash with Unbound Captives, I’mma be pissed! Any of you know when that’s supposed to be filmed, by the way?

  • Vertigo

Hey Liz, nothing’s been set in stone yet with UC but believe me when I tell you, we’ll be shouting it from the mountain tops when it happens.

  • Maria
    Posted on June 11, 2010

@Liz I believe there’s an issue with financing – not that it means it won’t happen, but probably taking longer than expected. I do know through an aquaintance of mine who is an Assistant Director and has worked on loads of Hollywood blockbusters that the global financial crisis hit Hollywood very hard last year and that no projects were being greenlit. It looks like things might be changing now.

Ain’t that the truth Vertigo re: Unbound Captives. Shouting it very very loud. Will be so much excitement on that amazing day!

    Posted on June 11, 2010

Well I’ve just checked out Hugh Jackman’s schedule on IMDBPro and he’s currently filming with another in the pipeline. Given that Rob’s going to be filming BD come Sept/Oct – it looks highly unlikely that they will be filming UC this year. The thing is though Rob’s only got a minor role in this film – so it’s something he can definitely fit in between filming BD – sorry peeps but he ain’t got a main role an he’s only in about half of the film if not less. UNLESS they are rewriting they script (are you listening Madeleine!!!) and increasing Rob’s role. I know wishful thinking, but if I was involved in that film I would seriously be thinking about cashing in! Oops sorry Rob but let’s face it I love Hugh but not enough to get me to the cinema to see it – unlike you of course – since I’m going to endure 2 freakin films of one of the worst books I’ve ever read.

As much as I love Rob as Eddie and knew this had to be two movies they are dragging it out more than necessary. Just finished reading Bel Ami and can’t wait for that and then Jacob, mmmmm!!! It definitely is the twilight SAGA!!! Off to watch The Haunted Airman!
