The 2010 TIME 100

Chris Weitz has written an article about Rob for the TIME 100 annual issue of people who most affect our world. Oh TIME you got that right – Rob definitely affects my world (my emphasis added). The only issue I have with Chris’ article is his comment “And if I say something bad about Rob Pattinson, I’m dead meat. That’s the devotion the Twilight films inspire.” Ugh you know Chris I understand your connection with that saga but Rob DOES have fans that were fans before that damn movie franchise that ARE devoted to him. Anyway sorry haven’t had a rant for oh at least 24 hours – so here’s the full article:
“I have to be careful about what I write here because it will be tweeted the moment TIME hits the stands. And if I say something bad about Rob Pattinson, I’m dead meat. That’s the devotion the Twilight films inspire. It’s certainly not how he planned it. And though I am continually impressed by the aplomb with which he handles the hysteria, I occasionally think he would take it all back if given the chance. Because essentially, Rob, 23, is a reserved, bookish sort of specimen, a guy who’d rather spend the night at the corner table in the pub with friends — a bit of a weirdo, frankly, in the best sense.
So how to write about someone who seems to answer Freud’s rhetorical question, What do women want? Perhaps it’s just worth pointing out that it’d be fun to have a beer with him even if he weren’t Edward Cullen. That we haven’t seen a tenth of what he can do onscreen. And that important things, beyond the veil of Hollywood, occupy his time too — music, conversation, ideas, a sense of the absurd. Which, maybe, explains why he never gets to my e-mails. I love you, Rob! Call me! ” (again, my emphasis added – we know Chris – we know we have so much more to see from Rob and I personally cannot wait!)Â
Thanks to @Vertigo for the tip!

Rob definitely is an influence beyond the Twilight Saga, and we will see great things from him.
Rob is talended and interested in all things representing art, and not just fame – that is what makes him so special.
Take into consideration that he is gorgeous and sexy and we have a very, very special package that we all adore 🙂

That part did really annoy me too Maria. We & many others were absolutely 100% devoted to ROB before we even knew the names Twilight & Edward Cullen existed.
I do love Chris’ line & your emphasis Maria – it is so so true. There is so much more to see from Rob – it is just the beginning of his brilliant career. I just absolutely cannot wait to see the brilliance that is to come from this extremely talented & special man.

Even though we already know, it’s nice to see an industry professional announce there’s so much more to see. 🙂
LOL, Chris is still scared of the twi crazies, he obviously hasn’t encountered the wrath of the Rob supporters.
Sare
