The Grand WTBUdapest interviewed Josh Safdie around October last year and at about 5.35 Josh explains why Rob wanted to work with the Safdie Bros.  “One of the reasons why [Rob] wanted to do a movie with us is because it’s been a very long time since he’s been able to sit down in a movie theatre and not feel like he’s watching a movie“.  Love listening to directors talk about why they do what they do.

    I love it when you post stuff like this @Maria. I’d NEVER come across it otherwise. Only about half way through listening, but it’s wonderful to hear from such creative, thoughtful directors. Thanks Maria.

    They really are @Sue and @Carmel and I get a kick out of films they mention that are in my list of faves too.
