Yep – and by fan event that wasn’t – I mean that it’s supposedly a “FAN” event yet “FANS” are being kept in the dark and aren’t really able to attend unless they win. And as @Vertigo pointed out – they get to take someone who might not be an actual fan oF Rob.

I’m not being bitter, I’m just annoyed that all of you, like us, who respect this man, aren’t being given the opportunity to actually hear what he is going to say at this event. It’s not about meeting him, it’s about showing him who his fans really are. I’m pretty sure, as I mentioned to the others, that Rob said if 1% of his Twilight fans followed him throughout his career he’d be happy, but Australia – giving 40 people (who might be Twihards) the opportunity to see him is HARDLY doing Rob any favours for the future.

Totally agree, Maria. It’s not about us, it’s much more about wanting Rob to know that he’s genuinely supported by his 1% here in Oz. (I just re-read the initial post that announced Rob was coming to Sydney ~ made me tear up, reading the excitement in our words. Way to crush enthusiasm, Hoyts D.)

Thank for keeping us updated, Maria. Knowing my own lack of patience re this non-event, I can only imagine your frustration. And Michelle, if just one birthday wish would be granted this year, we’ll all be hoping, somehow, it’s yours.

So well said Maria & I completely agree. It is so unfair that Rob doesn’t have the chance to see the genuine support he has here. The fans that are truly behind him & his career 100%. Vertigo’s point about the winner’s guest is so true. People who may not even support Rob are given the opportunity to go, how is that fair. A fan event where his true fans aren’t able to attend unless a ticket is won *shakes head* I still cannot get over how insane that is.

First, the banner is amazing. I really really love it. Second, THAT is the real edward. None of this purple crap. Third, the fact that Rob won’t get to see fans that are truly supportive of him and his career is incredibly sad. Instead he’ll most likely will have an auditorium filled will edward lovers and their bffs.

Oh and Maria please do send that email about calling him rpattz *shudders* Wish we could see his face if they call him that. They truly have no idea.

In a nutshell it was Jules you’re AMAZING! Love LOVE this banner. I can’t even with this fan non-event. I am still waiting for my return phone call from Hoyts. Maybe I shouldn’t have told them what i wanted to discuss, I may have had a better chance of them actually phoning me back!!!!!! The word that comes to mind for how this has all been handled is DISGRACEFUL!!!!!

The banner is perfect!!! Purple Edward is sh…t. Thanks for the cleansing. Of course they bent Rob!!! He’s too tall anyway in every aspect, they can’t handle it. Time will tell what Rob is all about, which is GREAT.
As for that “fan non event”, I’m so sorry, on behalf of the real Rob fans…
Summit is trying to make the most bs out of this last episode of Twi-saga, only ending up “cheapening” the whole promo. I wish Rob could have a word on this… things would be completely different and we know that…
As for that RPATZ… it’s for 4 year olds… let alone disrespectful towards Rob. EVERYBODY knows he HATES it…. “Just call me by my name”… he said singing, so ROB it MUST be.

Hmm, so I rambled on at some length this morning and I could have sworn it went through. Grrr – just wanted to say I am so sorry it’s such a frustrating time for you all!! Truly, Rob coming to your shores is a wonderful thing but for these events and lack of information to leave you all feeling like this it’s just so sad and frustrating!! Maria thank you for the cleanse. Normally a Twi-lover but this time even I am having a hard time getting at all excited about it. I’m not sure what all the purple is about either. They’ve not done any of the actors any justice – it’s got worse & worse every movie – maybe they’re trying to go “darker” as the kids grow up but it doesn’t work. He’s supposed to be 17 forever yes, not looking like an old man hangover gone wrong? No, wait, maybe he’s been up all night with the baby?! Sleep-deprived Daddy? (except she sleeps well – that blows that theory!)
