Margaret Pomeranz and David Stratton are reviewing Water For Elephants tonite at 10.00 pm Sydney time on “At The Movies” on the ABC.  They better give it a better rating than they did for Remember Me.  Just saying.  We will bring you vid as soon as we can for those who are not able to watch it.

Thanks to @likely44 for the reminder.  Wondered why my phone reminder went off and told me about Graham Norton which I know is next week – oops operator error!

Update – This is Michelle now as you of course already know lol:

4 & a half stars from Margaret & 4 from David is amazing considering how harsh these two are (yes we remember your review of Remember Me *glares at Margaret in particular*). Even though neither said it directly, they were clearly impressed by Rob or they would have said something about him. I’ll just go grab you a large slice of that humble pie Margaret & David. I just LOVE LOVE LOVE this beautiful film & it makes me happy beyond words to see Rob & it receiving the praise & recognition they so deserve. Cannot wait to see it again on Saturday *claps hands* YouTube is being stupid & won’t let embed *shakes fist* so to watch the vid, just click on the gorgeous Rob pic above.

Don’t worry @Vertigo – I’ve got my comment about David Crapon if he decides to do just that about the movie

Thumbs up from David and Margaret so I retract my “crapon” comment LOL

Yay! They like it, they really like it! lol. Their reviews are so good in comparison to their reviews for Rob’s previous films. This is very gratifying.
I hope the movie does very well.

Oh thank God. I had a P&C meeting that just finished and I’m a bit bummed I missed this. But if they gave it a good review, I’m back to happy again.

I know @jene – they panned Remember Me – I did notice they didn’t say anything specifically about Rob – but well – I guess that’s their way of eating humble pie!

Yes Maria, I see they didn’t comment on Rob however I see them falling all over themselves when Rob plays Erik Packer!!!!!! How could they possibly not praise a Cronenberg film!!!

@Maria – thanks to you & Michelle in anticipation. Please tell me who gave what amount of stars. I’m restricted to my iPod and can’t view vids.

I think my original comment went to spam :(. How good was that!! I agree, the fact that they said nothing specifically about Rob speaks volumes for me given how quick they are to condemn usually!!!

    Oh Wow!!!!
That’s amazingly good news. I know heaps of people that base their movie choices on Margret and David’s recommendations.
Thanks for the info @Maria. I can’t wait to catch up with Michelle’s video post.

It did @Vicky and I have no idea why.

And on this positive note – let me just say that Box Office Mojo confirms totals for 9 May 2011:
    Domestic – USD$42,601,229
Foreign – USD$21,300,000 (and this does include France and UK but it’s only 4 days worth of takings for both)

    Total: USD63,901,229

It was just a little different from the post I did earlier this week, but I’ll wait for weekend so I can include Australian figures. I know where I’ll be on Saturday.

great news! I can’t wait to see the vid. I’m in London, surrounded by WFE posters…..going to see it again with my cousin …..can’t wait!!!!

I think I’ve finally caught up with all the videos you guys have posted ….. I’m getting in trouble for spending too long on my iPad…..my husband reckons all I’m noticing in London are the posters of Rob!! thank God I lived here for 7 years ….. The posters are a welcome addition, they should keep them up permanently, If you ask me!

Such a wonderful review from two of Australia’s most respected movie critics. I don’t always agree with Margaret and David’s movie choices but I do admire and respect their professionalism when they review films. On this occasion they were both swept away by the majesty of WFE. Whilst they didn’t mention Robert specifically they both agreed that the lead performances were exemplary – that’s enormous praise. I recall that last year Margaret wasn’t so taken with RM however, David was and likened Robert’s performance to a young Marlon Brando. Margaret however, thought Robert was brilliant and charming in Twilight. And they weren’t anti his performance in Little Ashes. Personally I think Margaret’s a closet Robert fan but won’t outwardly admit it 🙂

This is huge, and we will get the David or Evan Williams written review in the Australian on the weekend.

I’m a member at the Classic and Palace theatres – both have just sent me emails quoting David and Margaret’s rating and rave reviews.

And both David & Marg are coutned on Rotten Toms too.
