Following the frenzy of photos from Italy, it’s been a pretty quiet last few days, so I thought given the 2009 MTV Movie Awards are a little over 24 hours away, we might like to have a refresher of last year Awards. Here are two clips of MTV’s Larry Carroll’s interview with Rob and Kristen as they walked the Red Carpet.  I love Rob in this interview which is pretty much before all the madness began – witty, giggly and wearing his Wayfarers. Larry’s also written an interesting article called “Twilight:” From Unknowns to Superstars where he says that both Rob and Kristen had to go back and walk the Red Carpet again because most of the world’s media had no idea who they were.   I feel sorry for the other “stars” walking the Red Carpet this year because seriously we all know what reaction Rob (and Kristen) will be getting this time round. It’s amazing the difference 12 months can make.  If you want to read Larry’s article, just click on the link.Â
Tim Kash of MTV talks to Catherine Hardwicke about Rob being nominated for Breakthrough Performance Male and the qualities she saw in him that made her decide to cast him as Edward Cullen. Catherine we couldn’t agree with you more about Rob being “very special and unique”, he is a breath of fresh air in what is an otherwise manufactured industry. Thanks to 2009 MTV Movie Awards for this clip and if you want to watch Catherine talk briefly about Rob in the fight and kiss scenes, please click on the link.
I’m trying hard not to sound cheesy here, but this really short, New Moon footage from ET somehow made me want to read the book and watch the Twilight DVD all over again. Strangely enough, watching fourteen seconds of the Edward and Bella we know so well, standing next to hear beaten up red truck and in front of Charlie’s house, makes me really hungry for more. Can’t wait for the MTV Awards!
We had heard that Rob (Kristen & Taylor – I’m obliged to mention them too) were to be presenting a snippet of footage from New Moon at this year’s MTV Movie Awards on Sunday. MTV has now confirmed that what they will be presenting is the first official trailer from the movie. Screams of delight – will there be footage of the breakup scene, the clocktower (like we can get enough of that), Eddie and Jacob fighting – ooh the suspense.  Well unfortunately for us Aussies, we won’t get the Awards until 4.00 pm on 1 June, but thankfully MTV are going to upload the trailer onto their site on Sunday night 10.45 pm (LA time) – that’s about 3.45 pm Monday 1 June (Sydney time). If you want to save the link for ease on Monday, click on the highlighted MTV above, but I’m going to have to practice patience since I’m expecting the amount of hits on that site will cause it to have a serious meltdown – oh and I know I should have included the New Moon poster with this post, but seriously …
Well if you missed most of the photos today (and I’m not sure what planet you would be living on to do so) here are a few extra favourties. I think we can definitely call it a night on what should probably have been proclaimed a public holiday since none of us got any work done today – seriously. Thanks to Extra TV for these pics.  And tell me – how can I apply for that job in the last photo.
Michelle and I both came across some interesting New Moon bits and pieces this evening, given it’s been a New Moon day, so this is a combined post (plus after all those photos neither of us can really think straight). First, you will have noticed the amazing .gif above that Michelle found which was made by Katharine. Wow – do I need to say anything else. Some people are very very clever. Hopefully you can take your eyes off it for one second so that you can preorder your New Moon Movie Companion at Amazon.com (yeah ok – maybe my find not as exciting as Michelle’s but hey – do you need any more incentive to order your copy). It’s release date is 6 October 2009, which is still some months away, but just think there may be some of today’s photos in it in A4 size (remember my Dazzle Me post – yep that’s where it came from).  Thanks to NewMoonMovie.Org for the tip.
